"Auronotcs"
"TheLakeRat"I own a Bulldog and after a little work its super quiet and puts out over 200ft/lbs of energy. I've killed dear, hogs, coons, rabbit foxes and many a beercan with it. it shoot all types of slugs and bullets but you will have to play around with different ones to see what shoots best in your rifle. It's a good 100yrd gun.
I've also owned a Hatsan Carnivore 357 and after a MAJOR tune i got it up to about 145. if i recall correcty. I took several rabbits with it before i sold it to my buddy and he has killed many varmits but i would not attempt to kill large game with it past the 50 yard mark.
American Air Arms makes a very sweet 357 also but its about double what you are wanting to spend.
On a side note i'm in the process of making a slide in Suppressor for the Bulldog as we speak. that should keep it in the double digit numbers on DB.
Let me know how that suppressor works for you. I love my bulldog, but it is touch loud.
And on the topic, I'd say get a bulldog. By far the best gun in that price range, shoots whatever you stick in it. (I've even done arrows.) You get 5-6 great high power shots, and as many as 20 usable shots.
