What would you consider an acceptable group

Maybe doable...

Hahaha. The cloverleaf pic above is spot on for a good group. No way a budget magnum break barrel springer will cloverleaf at 40 yards... honestly I don’t know how to answer that at 40... if I had your gun and could hit a soda can regardless of what side, at 25 yards I’d call it as good as it gets and have fun. That much power smacking into small game at that distance will certainly do its purpose!

Vetmx... he’s shooting a Benji break barrel not a gamo. Just think it’s important to clarify that since I owned 3 Gamo’s, all of which I do have close-to cloverleaf groups of 5 shots that have been shot hanging up on the wall behind the gun that shot it 😀. Not at all am I doing that all the time, that’s for sure. But occasionally the variables all come together. That’s never happened for me with a Benji

sorry picture is not facing correctly. I can hit a soup can almost every time at 40 yard with several of my break barrel .25's with open sights or red dot. Good enough for me. Out of the five I own the 125 and the 105x are the most consistent. However none of my rifles are factory stock.

I don’t own the XL 25 cal but I own the 22 cal Titan. It is less powered then it was out of the box as I put a lower powered Gamo gas strut in it, I cronied it at about 700 fps. At 36 metres which Is nearly 40 yards I would think there was something wrong with it if I couldn’t put ten pellets inside an inch. That’s with resting the back of my hand on a pillow filled with rice and useing the artillery hold. Pellets are 14.65 gr H&N FTT straight out of the tin.

This is the rifle I used in the 100 yard pingpong ball challenge run by Airgun Depot which I was lucky enough to get third. I hit the ball on the second shot. You can get good one if you do a little work on them.
