I know it was king in its time but I am looking to upgrade same caliber same power or more if possible, less recoil is a plus and less cooking effort if possible but not a deal breaker. Any input or options would be greatly appreciated.

The kodiak was pretty damn nice quality. Gonna be tough to beat by todays standard in my opinion. I had mine replaced with a gas spring in the 90s and still shoots like a dream. Maybe check around for a used eliminator?

Going to be tough if you want to stick with the quarter bore. Why not just do a overall if components can be purchased to get the power where it was ?

Having someone like David Slade go through the whole rifle for you: www.airgunwerks.com would be my first choice as he's supposed to the go to guy for those and their cousins the UK built Webley Patriots or take your chances with something like the Hatsan 135 which is supposed to be it's equivalent in power.

I had an Original UK Webley Patriot in 25 and gas rammed it and nothing compared not even my Theoben Eliminator.
Tried the Turkish Walther Falcon Hunter 25 cal that was easier to cock and real twangy but believe it or not pretty darn accurate it was crazy.
Tried the Turkish Webley Patriot and nowhere near the fit and finish of the original UK version but still shot fine though and real cheap.
Don't laugh now the Hatsan brand may be generally frowned upon but they do make SOME good models I can recommend in both Springer and PCP categories.
