What to do with your " Perfect Rifle"

"JoeWayneRhea"Zebra that is WICKED COOL !!! Man now that's a cool thing to do with your time . I actually had a buddy make me a carbon fibre eyepatch once . It was really one of a kind . The salt in my sweat broke it down after a while , but it kicked ass while it lasted !!!
Thanks! You should give it a go. It's a lot of fun and it's very satisfying when you get it right. It really isn't that difficult either. It does have multiple steps but it's totally within the skill set of your average diy enthusiast. The key thing is making a mold. The Cricket feels like a different gun when you shave 2lb off the weight.

Making simple relatively flat shapes like an eye patch is the easiest of all. You can even use one of your existing ones as mold . That would probably be a great first carbon fiber project to give yourself the confidence fo take on something more challenging. If you use the right clear coat, it won't get damaged with liquid either.

I intend to post a tutorial when I'm done with my latest project. I was surprised at how little info there was on the Internet on this topic. There are plenty of YouTube clips about making carbon fiber parts but the people making them seem to forget that most people don't have an autoclave or a vacuum pump in their garage. I want to post something that shows people how to do it with no special equipment.

No my 22 doesn't have POI shifts , but my 25 did. Drove me crazy !! Guy who bought it cut band off , all I did on the 22 was replace the O-rings on LDC . There are 2 of them and I thought why not ? And it worked to help with noise . They were allowing air past when shot . Worst POI shift I had was on my AirArms guns ...... On my 40 yard range it would shift up to 1.5 inches over 50 shots

My S500 did the same, even after removing the oring in the barrel band, though it was temperature induced shift. The solution was to degass the tube, loosen it then screw it back on finger tight. That's right, finger tight as in enough to engage the oring but not bind against the valve body. After that no more shifts.

Last year I did well with mine in field target with no mods, taking second at crosman, two first place and a second place in states matches, a seventh at nationals. Then again I am very dedicated shooter and can find no fault in the rifle if I am up to shooting it well. That's not to say your AA's weren't without issue. Even the best guns, well, maybe not "the best" but the perceived best manufacturers of mainstream airguns are not without fault from time to time. I'm glad you have a rifle that shoots so well. :)

Wow great shooting Buddy !!! Yeah I have no doubt the AirArms are great guns . I just happened upon a couple that were just average ....OK maybe better than just average :) but weren't the " spooky " accurate I was looking for . Of course that was also a while back before I knew much about airguns so I'll take at least half the hit on it .
I like the Kalibrgun rifles , but a big part is I'm comfortable tearing into one so I keep them clean and well lubed . Along with better optics than I had at the time . I hate to do it but I can see the Cricket up for sale in a couple weeks after my vacation. I wanna shoot i t some before I sell it .

LOL! Awesome video SP! Especially the slow mo running!

I'm still waiting for my perfect airgun. I looks like a reasonably priced Kaliber Humminbird Edgun Leishy but works perfectly out of the box (as in doesn't rely on the first wave of buyers to find all the flaws and if they do find flaws, replace/repair them for free), is in stock immediately and is parts supported in the USA.

I would add: it should weigh 5lb without a scope but be perfectly balanced. The buttpad should hang lower than on the current bullpup designs to allow comfortable shooting with the scope low down (close to the barrel). Plus, a comfortably placed cocking lever that allows you to set up the next shot without taking your eye away from the scope. It should have rail space for scope, bipod, laser and flashlight. Each unit should be hand checked for accuracy and function before leaving the factory. I want to be able to shoot a baby fly off it's mother back at 100 yards. It should also be compatible with AR grips and butt-stocks so we can select our own. It should come with a choice of walnut, carbon fiber or aluminum chassis and I want lolly-pops - all the colors of the rainbow and none of us will ever die.

For or an extra points, if they were feeling particularly innovative.... Give us dual triggers and make it adjustable between rifle and bullpup configuration depending on my mood and the shot. Also.... offer a detachable gas tube to allow it to be used in semi auto as well as lever action so we can choose between accurate target shooter or full-on Rambo.
