What springer did you shoot today?

I spent about an hour shooting my Annie 280 offhand. I basically bought the gun because it is very close in weight, balance, and trigger to my Annie Match 54 in 22lr. It's a really nice gun. I can at least keep up with most if not all of the local SSP and PCP guys standing, Not bad for an old guy with an old gun.....

Got my soldiers and screwed them down. I finally mounted them on a 2x3. Painted them to see them. Their small. These are 47 yds.

Sorry, I managed to typo 280 for 380.
This is my 380 in my indoor rolling FT caddy. I shoot it across my dining room/kitchen area which measures out to right at 30 feet. I have another gun that I shoot with peep sights, but this one in scoped at 6x and helps me practice dealing with the :magnification wobble" for my 22lr and highpower standing stuff. I also currently use this gun for FT match duties.

Are cocking it all the way down to pop the safety out. Does the safety fit loosely in the end block. maybe a tolerance issue, if it wasn't doing it with the factory safety.
The factory safety worked perfectly every time. The brass fit in nicely and I’m cocking until I hear things catch. Putting the trigger back in was all lined up, front pin first, and I tried to visualize the trigger/safety relationship. I was unable to understand the mechanics of setting the safety. It seems to just sit behind the trigger box, unattached to anything.
I’ll try cocking fully to make sure. That would be an easy fix. Thanks.

Shot my 2007 RWS Diana 48 w/Vortek tune, iron sights at a 25 yd target this morning, then my HW97 with scope. The '48 had a 2.6" group and the '97 <1". If I had better eyes the '48 would be better, may scope it soon. Going to shoot my 10 meter Comp 10 this afternoon. Trying to be the oldest contestant in the USA Shooting 10 meter air pistol competition....with an eye on the '28 Olympics in the good ole USA. Everyone is laughing but me! Some pics next time!

The next time you have it apart put the trigger back in the end plug while the end plug is out of the gun, just like you would when putting it together, safety, pins and all. Then you can use a dowel or whatever and cock the trigger, now you can look in the back of it with a flash light and work the safety and fire it. This will allow you to see whats happening.
The little metal tab that sticks out on the back of the trigger housing goes in between the groove on the safety, this will only allow it to move in and out a certain distance. once cocked it pops out and blocks the sear, the metal tab keeps it from coming out completely. Push it in and the sear clears for firing, and the metal tab keeps it from going too far in. Hope that helps, really simple if you study it.

4 rifles today, all .25 cal. HW97, HW80, HW77 and a HW90.

All guns were great except for the 80. It’s a k barrel and I installed a Vortek 3 over power?. It’s too much for this gun, IMO. Especially with the short barrel. Have to change this spring.
The 77 I will never part with. Has a TbT spring, still has a twang, but super accurate. Easily took out small men at 30 yds.
The 90 is at 18 bar and once dialed in the scope, lethal. Crow

My daughter had an appointment near me and is spending the night. She wasn’t too enthusiastic to shoot and said she’d sit with me and watch. Then I asked her to look through the BugBuster at the gammo rocker at 17 yards. “Just the round ones”, I said. The smile when she finished with the reset was priceless.
I was the spotter from that point on watching her bang the box.

Good ol' fashion fun. Looks like you could shoot a long ways to the wood line.

Nice. Now you need a HW30 or something for her next time she comes.
My daughter and granddaughter are coming this weekend for my wife’s 70th. Haven’t seen either in months. Going to have to buy her a gun for birthday.
Have to set up another table. Crow
