I also spent about an hour shooting KYL targets at about 30 yds with my Diana 54. It's not totally recoiless, but its way better than most springers as far as thump and still throws led at about 850fps.

We need a pic. CrowI spent about an hour shooting my Annie 280 offhand. I basically bought the gun because it is very close in weight, balance, and trigger to my Annie Match 54 in 22lr. It's a really nice gun. I can at least keep up with most if not all of the local SSP and PCP guys standing, Not bad for an old guy with an old gun.....
Sorry, I managed to typo 280 for 380.We need a pic. Crow
The factory safety worked perfectly every time. The brass fit in nicely and I’m cocking until I hear things catch. Putting the trigger back in was all lined up, front pin first, and I tried to visualize the trigger/safety relationship. I was unable to understand the mechanics of setting the safety. It seems to just sit behind the trigger box, unattached to anything. Are cocking it all the way down to pop the safety out. Does the safety fit loosely in the end block. maybe a tolerance issue, if it wasn't doing it with the factory safety.
The next time you have it apart put the trigger back in the end plug while the end plug is out of the gun, just like you would when putting it together, safety, pins and all. Then you can use a dowel or whatever and cock the trigger, now you can look in the back of it with a flash light and work the safety and fire it. This will allow you to see whats happening. The factory safety worked perfectly every time. The brass fit in nicely and I’m cocking until I hear things catch. I’ll try cocking fully to make sure. That would be an easy fix. Thanks.
Good ol' fashion fun. Looks like you could shoot a long ways to the wood line.My first outside adventure scoped.
I only had sights last summer when I first started shooting. HW35 .177

My daughter had an appointment near me and is spending the night. She wasn’t too enthusiastic to shoot and said she’d sit with me and watch. Then I asked her to look through the BugBuster at the gammo rocker at 17 yards. “Just the round ones”, I said. The smile when she finished with the reset was priceless.
I was the spotter from that point on watching her bang the box.
