What springer did you shoot today?

@crowski
Try an adjustable iris eyepiece the first chance that you get to try one!

It sounds like the aperture is too small for your eyes in one of your eye pieces. You can gauge them both and see if there is a difference, and open up the smaller of the two with an appropriately sized drill bit.
DO NOT forget to blow out the inside of the rear sight where the eyepiece screws into, then are notorious for collecting dust, stray hair, dead bugs etc.
Oh yes, the old FWB 150 I just got had the front globe full of dust, cleaned it out. Most of my guns have to stand upright on the buts so I put a cotton plug in the front of the diopter and then a small plastic zip lock over the muzzel end covering the globe sight.

It’s not the same vision as the 300s. Looks like double vision. Blurry. Moved my eye different distances. Can’t eliminate the blur. Crow;.
I have a rear diopter that i see a hair like line thru it . if i shift my eye above the line it is one focus if i shift my eye below that line it is a different focus . the target seems to move closer and farther ???? I have cleaned the sight several times to no avail . Yes i have had my eyes checked ! a ghost ? My diopter is haunted ?

I shot peeps quit a bit, but only Williams, Lyman, Daisy, Skinners on my Marlin lever gun, & military rifles that I've owned. I, of course, had them on my Sheridan air rifle since the early eighties as well.

Now, my vision fails me. The edges have a ghost image like a mirage, that I can only overcome with large hole irises. I can’t use the fine ones any more.
My Skinners can be crooked if you’re not carefull, and if so it really creats an aggravated sight issue when the tunnel isn't dead straight.

Planted 14 trees last few days and I’m hurting. Dr. recommended range shooting for at least a day maybe two.
‘This is a great start a HW97 .20. and what a gun.

Burnin the range today. Sun and cloud. Perfect.
The 300 jr. at 10 meters

This gun is sweet. As well the 300s. I’ve got to spend some time and figure out the sight adjustments.
Check out the target stand. The ladder for a million positions.

2nd and 4th row sighting adjustments which made no difference. Top row 300s 15- 10 shots. 3rd row jr. 10 shots ea.

Before supper I challenged the HW98 .20. and won.

Ya right. A treat to shoot. Crow.

Dave do you own any Hw 97’s and if so are they fitted with a suppressor or a muzzle break. I think your laws on suppressors are they same as ours, no can haveeeeee. Here they are advertised as having a muzzle break.
Gary
I’ve got 6-97’s. Going to sell one. No muzzle break. They are illegal here as well. Can’t even own one. Seems silly.
I was told if they look like a silencer, sometimes they don’t get the pass. Crow

Today is 77 day here. Started with Greenie a .177
IMG_1757.jpeg
Sweet gun. Hit this pig 9 times out of 10- 47 yds

Last morning shoot with the Venum .22. I like the push button to release the cocking arm on the new models. Superb rifle. But every once in a while a shot would drop 3 inches.

Same here, I put Lyman's on my Marlin 39a and Dads, now my, 336 back in the mid 60's, mid 70's a Williams on my FWB 24d, then as years progressed more Lymans on Marlins, a couple of Marbles tang sights on a couple, and a Skinner on a late production Marlin 1894, 32-20 that was not factory DT for the side mount Lyman type. I have a Winchester 1895 reproductin that has Providence Mfg copy of one of the side mount Lyman sights designed for those top ejecting guns. When I dove back into airguns big time there are a lot of vintage Anschutz diopter sights .
The Skinner is probably the sleekest looking, but adjustments are rather crude, but when zeroed it is as good as any for it's purpose, hunting. The Williams, and older Lymans are good, I prefer the old steel Lyman to the new aluminum body models, although my old Williams are aluminum and cannot fault them. I doubt that either would be good for constant adjustments as the better diopters such as Anschutz, FWB, Gehmann and some of the other German sight are.

Awesome day to shoot. Two more 77’s first my newest a .20 cal. I’m in love😍. What a gun.
IMG_1761.jpeg
The long barrel is so much easier to jack.
Last but not least the .25 cal. A favorite. It’s the slowest yet when it hits spinners other calibres can’t spin, the 25 will spin it 2-3 times.

This gun is a lot of fun. 3 hours of shooting today. Crow

Man o man just shot two rifles I don’t remember ever shooting. This company has to make springers again. First up a FWB 150. Just wow wow and wow. Check out my target stand.
IMG_1766.jpeg
Can you say perfect. This gun is worthy. Very happy with this one. Precision
Another beautiful masterpiece a FWB 601. Do I ever like the workmanship on these guns. Rembrandts.
IMG_1767.jpeg
This is a really cool gun. The breach opens automatically when jacking it. Ingenious. Could probably make you a coffee and sandwich. Can’t wait to play with these a little more.
Only an 1 1/2 hour shoot today. Crow
