AEA What size fill tank for a Megalodon .50?

This GX weighs about as much as a large tank, still off grid portable.
Does it have its own battery system? If so, how long does that last? Going to the vehicle isnt an option. [After looking, there is a 5-6lb difference, and doesnt look like there is a way to carry it on your back either].

Also, compressor wouldn't be ideal going to a range either. Awkward to bring inside, and if you leave it at the vehicle, even more awkward to leave the lane and go fill every few minutes.

What size tank do you guys use to fill a Meg .50, and how many fills do you get out of it? I know its an air hog, so Im debating between a 6.8L or 9L.
A 6.8L with valve, hose and backpack weighs 18 lbs. You are only going to get one almost full refill, plus a few more partial refills out of a 6.8L when you are filling a large air capacity rifle. Tanks with 4500psi can only fill a gun to like 4300psi, then the next fill will be 4,000psi, then less, and so on. I have multiple tanks 6.8L and 3L and refill them at home with a tuxing twin cylinder water cooled compressor. Portable compressors will not refill large tanks, they refill guns only.

It weighs 6kg with the hose/valve, and the pack doesnt weigh but a pound. The sole tank weighs 3.9kg. Im aware the pressure drops, thats the whole question. If I can get ~40 reasonably powered shots (over 150J) I'll take that over dragging a compressor I cant put on my back. Im also aware small compressors arent for tanks.

So, if someone can answer if you get those 40 shots out of 6.8L, that would be awesome...because thats all I really want to know lol

The biggest one you can afford, and a compressor. Waiting for a compressor to fill your gun is just counter productive to me.
5 replies, and I still cant get a straight answer lol. Maybe I came to the wrong place 🤔

"You can get about X many powerful (~150ft/lb+) shots from a Y size tank". To make things easier, you can even pretend its at a range and the tank is tethered to the gun.

Any other answer isnt really that helpful 😆

I dont have a Meg but I do have an Element Max in .457. I quit filling to 4500, now I fill to around 2800/3000 psi and get 5 or 6 shots all around 250 lbft of energy. My post has some more specific info you may be interested in about air usage. If you have a 6.8ltr bottle you could do a lot of shooting. I want to try it out with my 1.6ltr bottle to see how many actual fills I get.

Hope this helps you out
