What scopes have lasted for you on magnum springers?

I enjoy shooting both PCP and springer, but have worn out a couple of scopes on the springers. I have been told that UTG scopes are durable on spring piston rifles, which is why they are so heavy. (I have a couple that have worked well so far, but I've only shot airguns for 2 1/2 years).

I am getting a TX200 and want to use it for Field Target. I already have a 4-16 UTG. When I upgrade, (some day), what scopes are worth checking out?

What scopes have lasted for you?

I had one of my fixed 20x SWFAs on an RX2 (HW90 and a notoriously harshly recoiling gas ram) for awhile and it held up just fine. Still use that scope, now on a different gun and it still tracks just fine, as well as holding its zero like it always has. They come in other fixed powers, depending on your intended use. Some argue that a fixed power scope has less internal moving parts to get busted up by big springer recoil, and I tend to agree.

I have a Diana 45 and it killed at least six scopes. Hawke Airmax 4x12x40 dead, Falcon Tactical 4x14x44 dead, UTG swat 3x12x44 dead. None of these scopes even lasted a hundred rounds on the gun. Then I put a Bushnell Trophy 4x12 on it and it lasted well before I took it off after 500+ rounds fearing it would break soon also. Put a cheap $39 Winchester 4X scope with AO on it and that has held up way better than anything else. Although I have not been shooting it much so that has to come into play a little. So basically what I am saying is that nothing I bolted up to this gun has lasted more than a thousand rounds. I picked up a Diana 54 more recently and put a Diana Bullseye mount on it to save my scope a Hawke Airmax 4x12x50 which has been on it for at least a thousand rounds now with no problem.

Link is to the newer version 30mm with inserts for the one inch scopes mine is a basic one inch scope unit only.

Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach1. 22,000 shots on a UTG True Hunter 3X9 AO. The only problem found is as with most budget scopes the fast focus loosens up and causes poi change. The pic shows that I installed some Orings to correct. Unfortunately adjustment is reduced.

I have had good luck with Vortex and Leupold. The one vortex that lost its reticle, according to vortex, was a direct result of me over-tightening the mounts and partially crushing the tube. It held up to over 6,000 anyway, and the vortex VIP warranty was fantastic. So far, the sig whiskey asp scope has been great bang for buck (got it for $130 delivered)and is holding up well.
