What scope are you using on your compact gun?

I’m using a Vector Veyron on my compact-ish RTI. I’d imagine you will want a higher end scope than this for filming. This is pretty light at 20 ounces, and works well enough for me. Check out that magazine…nice, right?! I enjoyed talking with you yesterday.

Favorite scopes on my compacts (for hunting, mostly 50 yards and in) are Vector Veyron 3-12 in either FFP or SFP (I personally prefer SFP scopes, and they are also cheaper) and Optisan CP 3-12x32 (which I like a little more than the Veyrons due to its overall brightness, but is more expensive).

If wanting a little more magnification for longer distance work, I also like the Veyron 4-16x44 which comes without too much of a size, weight & price penalty over the 3-12 Veyrons.

Vector Veyron 3-12x44mm FFP non-IR on a Lelya 2.0. Which compact scope are you looking to replace? I’m not clear if you’re saying that you want to replace an Immersive Optics scope that you’re currently using to film through or you’re considering switching to one.

I currently have the gun mounted with the Immersive optics, but I cannot use my current scopecam with it due to the zero eye relief so I'm considering selling it and buying another scope that I can use for filming... that's the research I'm doing right now.

looks like this is the scope most of the guys are using looks very nice on the gun, and that's the same gun I'll be using my scope I'll share some pics later when my little one give. Ohh that magazine looks amazing, I think I know one guy that makes them :) It was a pleasure talking to you too!

Very good recommendations. Thanks!

I think I'll have same issue I'm facing now with the immersive scope.

I purchased a Vector Veyron 3-12 SFP for when I pick up PCP #2, Which will be smaller and lighter than my Cayden.

Thanks for letting me know it looks like the VV is the scope most of you are using..

Sightron s3 3.5x10 on mine because I wanted a scope capable of using all the accuracy the prophet is able to put out.

I'll take a look at this one too, I wish they have a bit more magnification but this could be a winner too

@Orion I’m not sure how your system will work with the Vector Veyron, but my Tactacam FTS is a very tight fit between my elevation and windage turrets. I’ve really only found one way to mount it that works. Since I’m not shooting long range and I’m not a clicker/dialer I can manage with my setup. It’s not ideal, but it’s functional. From what I recall your setup looks similar to the side shot if I’m not mistaken. Using a Veyron be sure to take into account its length, the amount of space you need to situate your camera and camera mount, and how your camera will interact with your turrets, rail, and mounting screws or levers (if you use QD mounts or rings). These aren’t the best photos, but to give you an idea there are a couple of pics of what I’m describing here https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/tactacam-fts-on-a-compact-scope-question/?referrer=1

@orion I have a Vector Optics Veyron 3x12 FFP, I like the scope on my RTI Prophet Performance Compact aka Glimmer, yet I am thinking of upgrading to a VO Veyron 4x16 FFP or similar because of the 22 cal 510 mm CZ barrel kit (speaking of which I need to follow up to find out its delivery status). The 22 cal will have extra reach over the 177 and after having just shy of 80 yard knockdowns yesterday with 177 cal JSB Knockouts, the extra magnification might really be valuable. In addition to the Vector Optics I am thinking of a Blackhound 4x16.

Don’t discount the discovery version of that vector scope. I had it on my leshiy classic, and it was the perfect size and magnification. The discovery reticle is also sightlier easy to see at lower magnification. The vector reticle almost disappears at low mag, unless you go sfp! Also know, they’re not really clickable scopes, so knowing your holdovers on these is a must. You’re a pretty competent person, so I don’t see that being a problem for you. I have never had a scope cam connected to my discovery though, so I can’t speak for that.

I also have the athlon helos 2-12 on my leshiy 2. The glass is amazing, and I really like the reticle, but I wouldn’t call it compact. It’s heavy like all athlons, but it makes up for it in clarity, and reticle. I didn’t think 12x was enough mag for me, but with the clarity of this scope, it doesn’t really matter. I’m still hitting where I aim at 85yds (the max I can shoot in my back yard).
