What pistol did you shoot today

Another trip out with my old model HW45 with the prototype red dot rail. At the last outing it ended up with the screw working loose from the recoil, so I re-fitted the iron sight only for the blade to fall apart. 😵‍💫
This time I applied thread lock, but seem to have run out of vertical adjustment. More tweaks required...

Ten shots at 10m.

Aloha! Brought out the Baikal IZH 46M for a 30 shot match at 25 yards offhand with 2 hand hold. First time with the RWS MeisterK 7.0g wadcutters. A brief 5 shot test over the chrono showed an average of 443 fps. Only mods are the upgraded trigger, an Air Venturi grip and the Matchdot red dot sight using the 2moa dot. Shooting outdoors at home here on the big island of Hawaii! Guess which was the first shot, haha. Had to get better after that!

I've had this GK1 for 4 days. I've put almost 1,000 rounds through it. There are few airguns i get and say to myself "why didn't i get this sooner?". This stock is about 4" short for my liking, but the dual L/R folding with locking feature is really nice and the stock is quality.

This really has me wanting a K1 with the carbon stock... why are they so expensive! :D this pistol was worth the price though.

Moved the 2x20 scope over from the HW44 to the P85 today. Shooting rested at 15 meters, that's about the longest I can get within the fences on the cabin property. I'm a newbie when it comes to optics on handguns, and so far I prefer scopes over red dots by a good margin. Probably because so far I've mainly been shooting rested. Standing, shooting off hand would probably turn around the preferences. I have been using iron sights on pistols since the early nineties, so this is rather unfamiliar and takes some getting used to, but I'm getting there. 😃👍

Hi …well you in courage me to do it again …so I found a pair of Crosman 38T’s in .177…wanted the .22 model…but there was nothing nice as of yet…these 2 are very clean…one of them I got for 35 dollars…I am sure they are going to be needing sealing…I still haven’t gotten around to doing the S & W …78G & 79G yet…the Crosman MK1….22cal should arrive tomorrow…not looking forward to resealing that pistol does look like fun at all…I really hope the valve is still in good condition…have any tricks up your sleeve to repair that seeing how they are no longer available?

Those Predom’s are tough as nails. Good stuff! I’ve heard the Polish army even used them as training weapons.
I did the spring modification that replaced the two springs with a single one. In retrospect, I think I’d shorten the new spring a bit … it’ll reduce the power a little (and that’s ok) but make for a more gentle shooter and lessen the needed cocking force 👍

Too humid and buggy so I did 10 meters in the basement.

Call me Dancer because that’s all I’m capable of doing around the bulls 😁

Hi Rondo..no explanation needed...I understand completely...you were doing the Polka Dance ...it's very difficult to do....they dance around the middle....I have that same red dot...they work nice....... plus they are made for Dovetail

I have to say, the more I shoot this little KWC Makarov the more I like it.
Slide blowback is nice and smooth, trigger is also smooth and with a long pull much like the real Mak. All metal except the grips (y).
It's not that powerful and steel BBs land low. But the plastic ASG BBs land on point of aim at ~10m (they're also cheaper than dirt to shoot and they tend to crumble on impact rather than ricochet).
Target is 3" across and everything seems to stay inside the circle even with the ASG's, which I don't find particularly accurate.
I get about 50 shots per Co2.

It functions and field strips like the real thing (as many repli-guns do). Although the magazine release is a bit unusual, peculiar to Makarov ... it's a spring-loaded latch at the bottom of the grip. This latch is knurled to give your thumb enough purchase to pull it back and let the mag drop out. However, the knurling extends far enough forward to dig into the little ramp cast into the back of the mag, and this will eventually chisel away the ramp on the mag. My solution was to file away a bit of the knurling to create a ramp on the latch that corresponded to the ramp on the mag. Now there are two surfaces that slide against each other instead of gouging.

I'm more familiar with pellet guns and other things with rifled barrels, so at first I found this large grouping a bit discouraging.
However, I was reminded that like so many other repli-guns, it mimics a PB whose primary function is close range defense. In other words even the "real thing" was never expected to deliver target pistol accuracy. And the target could be uncomfortably close.
Ok, ... so maybe a 3" target at 10m is good enough :)
