What pistol did you shoot today

Shot my Benjamin 132 for the first time since the 1990s. I just discovered it in a storage box last week.

Surprised that it shot at all. Pumps up and holds pressure perfectly. I ran about 50 pellets thru it (after a bit of cleaning and oiling).

It needs a bit of work. Trigger is atrocious. Pump feels like it may need adjustment...really hard to get it 'over center.' Above about six pumps, it will retain residual air pressure when fired...hammer spring? I dunno...I need to find an info source on it.

Tempest #2…rebuilt this one as well…and changed the barrel to a .22 …it was a brand new barrel from England..NOS…groups well but shoots 5 1/2” high…the rear sight is bottomed out…I think the new barrel dimensions are different then the original barrel…the barrel pivot point must be different …not sure how I am going to fix this issue yet…I welcome all ideas …I am thinking of making the front sight taller or get another rear sight blade and open up the adjustment slot…where are you Mr.Wizard…lol

Did you shoot the Tempest on support or off-hand when doing the testing? You may know this, but just like many springer pistols, the Tempest usually goes way off target when used on hard support, i.e. off-hand is the only option for consistent accuracy.

Off the bag…these old hands shaky hand are only good for one thing…lol…I know what you are saying about the springer recoil …this one is definitely a mechanical issue…these barrels from the country store are really rough..lots of burrs …oversized…lots of filing for the fit…when I get the chance I will mic it out with the original barrel…I have 2 of them and they are like night and day…

I gave my Rhom Twinmaster Top an airing today for some competition cards.

Afterwards I was trying to zero the red dot my prototype mount for my old model HW45, but I was not sure if it was holding zero due to the recoil, or if something else was happening.
Eventually got some sort of group, but then remembered I was using some Brazilian pellets I picked up at a recent shooting show, swapped to the ever reliable Econ II and the group shrank quite a bit. Unfortunately I had run out of time, so further investigation will have to wait until next week.

Ultimately I intend to fit an RMR plate to get the sight as low as possible.

So what pistol did I Shoot today…I have been digging threw the cobwebs in the man cave…and found …”Rusty Joe”…my Phase one 1377 Classic…made in 1980…I used to shoot this a lot but it was such a pain in the “A##” to load pellets and still is…lol…hasn’t seen any action in 35 years…never cleaned or oiled …it only came out to kill Fly’s…4 pumps good by fly..it was fun to see then go threw a screen window..always wondered what the first thing that fly saw…his ass…so I thought I would be nice to it and give it a rub down and a few drops of oil…and see if it had anything left to give me…they say only the good die young…well this gun is proof that it is a Bad Ass…and that’s my story…10 for 10 @ 10 yards
