What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Thanks Randall. I only wish all the groups were that good as that tiny one. But that is unrealistic, for my skills.
Tim, you're welcome! Shooting is like golf, we can't always bring our A game (although our PCP's do) but we do the best we can with what we bring that day! It's still "fun" 🤗.

Shot quite a few targets tonight. All off hand 5 shot groups at 10 meters with the 300S. These three were pretty typical for me tonight. Nothing too good but fun nonetheless. Hey Thomas, I don’t know if you’re looking in from time to time but I hope you’re doing better and you are in my prayers. Have a good evening everyone

I put a different scope on my TX 200. It is a 5-16x50 so it is smaller than the one I was using and much easier to load because I can see the loading port. I just wanted to get it on paper before I go to the range and sight it in for Hunter class field target. It was way right so I went one turn and it hit paper. Another half turn and it was close then a couple clicks and out three just under the bullseye at 20 yards.

Shot the first two targets this evening with the RWS 45. Finished my evening shoot with the FWB 300 S. I had a few targets in between with both rifles that weren’t quite as good as these but nothing too ugly. All in all I was pretty happy with my shooting tonight. Have a good night all.

It would seem like there is a sniper hidden inside my never shot a single shot before little sister.

This is her shooting 30 M with my FX maverick and 10.43 gr JSB heavy pellets, in rather high winds.
So much wind me shooting 13 gr slugs i dident bother going out past 75 M, well not before 9 in the evening when it calmed down, then i was shooting chalks at 118 M.

Using my Oneleaf NV 500 scope, CUZ it is clear that she still need to get to terms with use of conventional scopes.

BTW there is at least 40 shots in there ( center dot ), if there is 50 i would not be surprised.
Top R dot was me zeroing in scope CUZ updated firmware the day before.

Your sister is a natural! How cool is that!?

I was helluva surprised for sure.
Maybe she is like me, as a kid shooting 15 and 50 M rimfire, or 200 M 7.92 mm for that matter, some of my best series i always shot some of the first times on each distance.
Later when the wind calmed down ( 30 M somewhat in the wind shade of the barn yesterday ) at the same distance she was shooting the fairground shooting gallery clays ( about 10 X 50 mm in size with the 40 mm visible ) at the same distance, but just taking a few mm off the top in every shot. ( like we told her to do CUZ otherwise you can easy take those out with 1 shot center mass or down low on it )
She also connected on the clays few times at 75 M with the pellets, but really at that distance with .177 you need a measure of luck too.

I also needed a little luck with the same clays at 118 M, but i did get two in a row at one time, that was a arms in air moment.

She insisted of a repeat, both the grill food my friend whipped up, but also trigger time on the Maverick.

Sounds like so much fun and good food!

I spoiled a good target with the 2 outliers. I’m not really complaining though 😁 I’ve been shooting the 45 with the original perlkorn front sight insert trying to concentrate on the front sight like I do with my revolvers. It seems to work pretty good for me and I like shooting it. The 300S has a clear circle insert and I mostly just concentrate on the bull. Two different techniques I know but it seems to work out ok. Not really sure what is considered to be the proper way.

Well it was last evening.
Retiring the Two due to low light i broke out the Maverick, and decided to put the Carm Magazine to use.
The wind had died down some, so 55 M was fairly doable, potentially better if you had not decided to just burn through just about a tin of JSB heavy pellets.

The Oneleaf NV500 scope did not really let me wee where i hit in the black of the paper, but misses in the white i was still able to see ( scope in daytime mode )

Taking the 55 M walk after shooting a little i was OK with the result up close, i have to admit there is fun to be had shooting pellets.
Before the papers i trimmed dry branches i had thrown up against the 30 M target stand, trimming 10 - 20 mm of in every shot.

The last 60 - 80 or so pellets i used trying to hit chalks at 118 M,,,,, a 10 X 40 mm target that far away and .177 pellets, well i think a few shots was quite close but no hit.'
16 Gr Zan and H&N slugs in the Two,,,,, well again this outing i did 2 in a row back there, for me that is a arms in the air moment.
Cleaned out the rack ( about 12 or so chalks ) several times. even hit a couple of leftovers which are pretty much 10 X 10 mm in size, that also feel good.

BTW we have 2 new " needle" targets, furthest back at 100 M is a 8 mm hole, and it is hexed CUZ we have great problems hitting it, all around it, no problem at all, but threading the needle is hard for us.
Of course the wind lately do not make things more easy, shoot where you should not be shooting 100 US or Euro units and you can see your POI of your slug drift 50 - 100 mm easy.

6 mm hole " needle" targets at 50 and 75 M seem easier to hit for some reason.

Shot these 2 shot groups with my Taipan Vet2 Tactical 550mm .22 @ 20yds with JSB 18gr @ 975fps. The main reason I am showing this is the wood board targets I purchased from amazon, they are 6"x6" , about 1/8" thick and you get 80 for $22, they are for crafting, they make perfect holes, I really like them! They also come in different sizes.
