What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Hello @Greenarrow

Yep sure do, paper + target 😁 . We aren't real picky around here, the main thing is to get out and shoot.
You have some very nice groups there (y) for 50-foot and open / iron sights.

Thank you

i should have added this... These were shot standing, supported with tripod trigger sticks. That has been my new way of shooting recently to keep things fresh. It’s pretty wild trying to steady each gun. I’m shooting the same distance, same way each rifle but some guns are noticeably easier to steady vs. others which take more concentration. It’s easy to see which ones are easier than others. Many of those targets show a pulled shot. Those are the more difficult to steady guns. So far, in my limited time shooting like this, I e noticed that my Taipan, HW77K and the R9 (custom stock) have been the most stable. Strangely my FWB300S has been a bear and so have the HW30S guns I have. At first I thought it was weight related (like shooting unsupported/offhand) but the FWB and the HW30S are on opposite ends of the weight/size spectrum so that theory isn’t holding much weight. Whatever the case, it’s been a great challenge and needed change of shooting style. Ive been bored with airguns recently and this adds some needed freshness to shooting them. 🎯🎯🎯🎯

I really like the old FX 400's! When the smooth twists were good...they were a Sweet barrel. Nice accuracy on the HW 77. Such a nice reliable springer! Never had a 77, but i have a 97kt which i adore. Nice looking coin ..from Croatia?
Nice shooting greenarrow

I’m with you on this! i have owned 4 FX rifles. All have been the original Smooth Twist barrels shooting pellets. I am a total fan of that previous time in FX gun history. I’ve owned 2 Royale 400s, a Wildcat and a Streamline. The Streamline was the best shooting air rifle I have owned. No exaggelation here but 3/8” 50 yard groups was the norm, not the cherry picked group size. If I was shooting 1/2” + groups at that distance, I knew that I was having an off day. I should have never sold that gun. 🙄 My abilities show that 1/2”-3/4” groups are the good groups at that distance (benched). Anyway, all that to say that I love the ST barrels that FX used to make. 👌🏼
Im not sure where the coin came from. I guess I could look it up. The kids collect foreign money and we had a bunch of similar coins so I took a few of them to use as size markers for groups. This is one that is dime sized and unique. I also have a couple old wheat back Pennie’s that I like to use. I would like a Mercury dime if I ever find one for a marker also. Maybe I’ll ask for one for a Fathers Day gift when the kids ask what I want. They could all throw in a couple dollars and that would be an easy gift 🎁😜

Just a little time with my HW44

On 01-31-24, indoors at 20 yards (measured), from a table, sitting, using my 12 FPE .177 FX Impact M3 and a M16A1 target - I shot a sub 1 MOA 5 pellet group of 0.191" Edge to Edge. 1 MOA at 20 yards is 0.209".

According to my log book this was my 221st target since 01-01-24.

Hello @rsfrid

You accuse me of being wasteful, how many times have I suggested that you simply use the same paper target and shoot through the "old" holes :ROFLMAO: . Very nice card Sheriff (y)

ThomasT
Maybe I'll do that — stack like 10 targets, shoot the top one and post each of the 10 over the next 10 days! Great idea! Hmmm, is that what you've been doing all along? No wonder that cheap Turkish long gun manages to get all Xs every time! 🫢🤔🤣😂

I had to stretch the R9 out to 40 yards. I didn’t do as well as I had hoped but I can honestly say that I haven’t been shooting springers at paper at distance for a bit so I’ll have to use that excuse. 🙄🤣😜
That coin is about the same size as a quarter.

R9
40 yards
10 shots
14.66 FTTs
seated with trigger sticks
overcast 48* 3mph wind

Hello @Greenarrow

Nice shoot-n. That is a great looking stock. A wood stock just makes a rifle :D

Thanks @ThomasT for the kudos but my unicorn Avenger can shoot inside all 40 circles on a card consistently. The Revere is coming around but just not quite there yet. I probably could have done a bit better if I would have tweaked my scope first.

On the plus side my Revere reg is starting to break in nicely with some awesome consistency.

While the Avenger may be the darling of the litter, that Revere is awsum. Seems very consistent. That's unregulated, right?
