What is Your Preferred Method of Carrying Your Sling-Mounted Rifle?

I am aware of a few widely accepted methods of transporting rifles, but I'd like to hear from forum members on your particular preferred method(s) of transporting your sling-mounted air rifle on your person while hunting. How do you carry your air rifle on a hunt, whether walking through the woods, in hills or mountains, or on relatively flat terrain? If your method varies depending upon the environment, please elaborate.

I pose this question assuming there is no absolutely correct way to carry a rifle, but there are a few methods that are recognized and taught to be safe for their applications. I also realize that people debate this topic in various shooting circles and forums. This question is not meant to spark a nasty debate. Instead I desire to obtain insight into the "why?" members prefer the methods that they use.

Have a maverick have a sling mount on left side pic rail and 1 on butt. Sling goes behind right shoulder and over left gun basically goes across mid body find it comfortable more out of the way than just shouldered and comes up quick

I do something similar when going through brush as it prevents snagging of the rifle. There are times when doing down a steep slope where I want the rifle in front and in my hands so if I fall on my butt the rifle is not between me and the ground.

Thanks to all members that responded. I carry rifles differently depending upon factors like weight, balance, length, and the task at hand.

I like slings and the different things that can be done with them. I recall asking a sling related question when I joined this forum. These types of questions don't seem to concern many members, but if you're interested feel free to comment . Here's an article that I like to reference concerning slings and the basics https://www.shootingillustrated.com/articles/2018/9/3/rifle-sling-basics-operation-and-options/#:~:text=Rifles%20with%20two-point%20slings%20can%20be%20carried%20hunter-style,the%20muzzle%20at%20the%20sky%20or%20the%20ground Although this article isn't air rifle specific, in my opinion it contains good info.
