What is wrong with people???

Ted's shooting credentials are beyond question but the guy does come across as arrogant and elitist.

I don't know the man and he may very well be the nicest guy in the room but he doesn't seem to be that way on his videos.

I've seen enough of this forum to know that there's a fair amount of like minded individuals who share the same traits and are quick to demean anything less than what they consider the best.

If you want the sport to grow you need to encourage new shooters regardless of whether they're shooting a walmart special or an FX. With experience that need for better equipment will follow.

You want to keep it a "Good ole Boys"club than just keep doing what you've been doing. Peace Out.

SG, is that you? ;-)

It’s no surprise that people with similar tastes tend to congregate in the same places. I prefer this forum to others because it seems (at least to me) that there are more people of my age group here and more owners of similar rifles. And what’s wrong with that? I want to be able to discuss the hobby with people who have similar experiences and equipment as I do.

And what you’re describing about “graduating” to more expensive rifles is what happened to Ted. His older videos had him shooting much more inexpensive Benjamin and Crosman rifles before moving onto higher end equipment.

With Ted pulling the videos, we really can't go back and watch them again to refresh my memory.....But I think where the issue is in just how he handled this all the way around. He had the rifle for months and did not do the "review". In that first video I seem to remember him calling into question some markings on the rifle about the fill pressure. I would have thought someone with his experience would have done a little research on this product. His comments in that first video, as well as his actions spoke volumes to me. I also seem to remember him having some difficulty cocking the rifle in the first video, but it did work.

In the second video I do think he said he hated the gun, I seem to remember reading a comment that said don't review it, we know what you will say about a gun you hate.

The last thing I want to add is he pulled the video, I doubt this was due to youtube policy or anything along those lines....it seems to me he pulled them because of the comments he was getting. Now in reading this thread it seems he handed this forum over to someone else after people called into question some of his practices. To me the only thing I can take away from this is he will "take his ball and run home" if things don't go his way.

I have been playing with "adult" airguns for about 30 years now, and I can not remember any one product causing so much.....discussion. I am really trying to figure out why. I will say mine shoots nice, and I have had zero issues with mine. But it seems that those that love the Gauntlet are a very loyal group, and will dig in if they see their product is not getting a fair shake, and I do agree Ted went into this with a bias and the wrong way. I read on the airgun blog that Gaylord had a Fortitude and it leaked...he said he sent it back to PA for a new one....this is the classy way to deal with an issue, getting on youtube saying you hate the gun and grunting trying to cock it, is a classless way to do it, and people called him out on it.

Long for my first and likely only post, but that is the way I see it. Ted showed his true character in this entire ordeal, and now I get reinforcement that he did the same thing with this forum.

All I can say I will watch his future video with a different perspective.

Ted’s comments weren’t as one sided and overly negative as you describe. He did take too long to review the gun after saying he would review it, but he has broken promises on many guns besides the Gauntlet as well. I think he bites off more than he can chew.

It wasn’t just Ted’s video that was taken down, Southern Gunner took his attack video down too. I’m guessing the comments were getting out of control on both sides of the debate and Umarex corporate stepped in behind the scenes and cooler heads prevailed.

But thanks for creating an account to share your opinion, I guess...

Reply/Quote....I don't do well with forums...this is why I read.

I could be remembering wrong, that is why I wish he had not taken them down...I only saw them once and the last two *i think* i was just....wow....that is really calling people out. I can only say what I remember, and that is likely faulty.....like that game we played in grade school....tell a story, then tell it to a friend, by the time it gets back to you is is nothing like the original.

To me is seemed like he called people that posted up groups and what not basically liars, said they are horse hockey or something....I really wish we could watch them again as now it is down to human memory.

I had to look up southern gunner.....I hate to admit it, but when I read it I was thinking is that the black guy.....yup. I like him quite a bit. I am not sure if I saw his video....I have seen some gauntlet videos of his but I don't remember an attack video.

A real shame people will not stand up for what they think....a problem now in my view, if you are going to put so much thought and work into putting a video on youtube stand by it...let it stand, if time goes on and you change your mind on something put up a new video....say you are wrong on this or that. As is we get some that only give positive reviews on everything....nothing is all good. I want to see something that has its all....every prom queen has a wart. Give us a true review....to use another phrase...some are all fluff and little facts.

I don't get why everyone is so gun shy....I have tried to make videos before.....they suck and take a LOT of work....this is MY view on this or that, stand by it, defend it with facts and if your view changes....then it changes, people grow and change.

And to quote another person I watch.....that's all I have to say about that.

Why are the videos unavailable now? I saw ted's video and agreed with him even gave umarex some crap about their qc abilities. If one gun made it thru you there more than just that one.

Nobody knows.

Oh someone knows just not saying. Umarex is probably crying so the reviews tookem down

Or Ted got paid off to take them down.

Good Man JB !

I usually don't post here any more namely because of the creator of this so called web blog allowing this sort of disrespectful behavior !!!

I've recently sold my crosman wares and will definitely consider a UMAREX soon !

Word of mouth is the best advertisement.

This post has nothing to do with AGN. Why are you even posting? I guess all those negative accuracy scores are deserved.

Thanks for stopping by!
