As we all know the hammer spring of the Taipan Vet can be easily adjusted to very the power level. Last week I set the hammer spring so I got 30 ft/lbs of energy, based off the speed of the pellet using a chronograph. Pellet was the standard JSB 25.34 grain.
When I posted this some people commented that is “out of tune” for the regulated setting because the Taipan rated up to 40 ft/lbs by Taipan in the manual
However, I believe that there is a “RANGE” that the hammer spring can be set and still tuned with out changing the regulator pressure. This power range gives you some flexibility for hunting. Yet, I do know this might be an optimal tune.
Do think I am right my assessment or view? Also, how do you find your optimal tune for a regulator that can’t easily be adjusted like the Taipan Veterans? Yet the hammer spring can be easily adjusted.
