I come from a competitive "powder burner" background, so my standards are pretty high. I haven't been overly impressed by any airgun (though I do really enjoy my Taipan). IMO, airguns are lacking in two big categories:
1. Accuracy - some of the best groups posted on here are right around 1 MOA. This is unacceptable accuracy for even some of the cheapest precision rifle PB's available today.
2. Reliability - not much more needs to be said here. Even the best of airguns seem to have issues.
I hope in the coming years there is a renessaince that occurs in the airgun world. With better/higher quality pellets and airgun design, there should be no problem achieving 1/2 MOA or better. They also need to work towards more reliable airguns. The amount of problems people have with airguns is a bit staggering.

I am confused now (for real) regarding accuracy.
I have read that airguns are sometime even more accurate than PB, but you say quite the opposite, are you talking of competitive shooting only?
If I understand correct you say that 1 inch group @ 100 meters is not acceptable for precision PBs right? (please do not get me wrong, those are real doubts of a total ignorant, me, on PB) I had to google it to get 1 MOA in accuracy means, you make me learn something new! thanks for that!

Yes, 1 MOA is approximately 1" (it's actually 1.047") at 100 yards. Around ~1" is commonly reported on here as "great groups".
If my powder burner isn't capable of less than 0.5" at 100 yards, then I'm not happy. I'm usually looking for 1/3 MOA or better.
For example, this is a 5-shot 100 yard group with one of my "PB" rifles. This is around 1/10 MOA (or "10 times more precise" than 1 MOA):

is what's gonna screw up EVERYTHING.
Just keep on using the word "weapon" and it won't be long before the thing we love most about airguns will be gone forever.
