What is the ideal wadcutter velocity?

I'm just curious as to what the ideal velocity for a wadcutter pellet might be?

I'm looking to shoot some 10m targets offhand and wonder how far to detune my .22 cal Veteran's hammer spring if shooting the 13.43 gr. JSB wadcutters. All opinions appreciated.

I've had really good luck with those in the past at about 12fpe...650fps or so!

Had a hopped up Crosman pumper that shot them very well at that power.

The 10 meter guys shoot at about 550 f/s.

yes, around 500 - 600 fps is the 7,5J limit for 4,5mm / .177 pellets for classic 10m sport shooting

thats enough to make perfect holes in the paper. lower then ~450 fps and the pellets start to fail cutting perfect holes (bad for the counting / scanner machine if paper targets are still used)

im sure the paper do not care if its hit with 600 or 920 fps pellet speeds.
