Love the Hatsan Pile Driver! Do you cast your own slugs?Hatsan Pile driver
cheap and effective
I asked about the weight and was told 12lbs…. That just seems too heavy. That new AEA Challenger Elite from Fox Air looks pretty sweet.
If you’re shooting .50 cal I would think that would be a positive.I asked about the weight and was told 12lbs…. That just seems too heavy.
Really depends on what you’re doing. It’s a positive for accuracy off a rest but bad for packing if you stalk hunt.If you’re shooting .50 cal I would think that would be a positive.
Well I can only assume that anyone walking around hunting with a .50 cal would be smart enough to put a sling on it, lolReally depends on what you’re doing. It’s a positive for accuracy off a rest but bad for packing if you stalk hunt.
Im a little confused? The AEA Challenger is pretty beefy, 235g Slug at about ~950-1050fps @~540Ft-Lbs.Texan is the only one with enough power to push it past 50yds. No point otherwise.
Im not claiming the AEA is better than a Texan, but I dont agree with your assumption they wont be useful past 50yds. I also would never hunt a bear @150yds with any air powered rifle.Do you have one doing good groups at 100yds plus? Anything slug under 350g will not have a proper design to travel right in .50cal. 50yds and under, buy what you want. You want 150yds and still drop a black bear. Texan 800fpe and 6lbs. Plus, show me a high power AEA that does not break in a year or less and i will be highly surprised.
If yours can do it confidently. Kick-ass. Ive been there done that, I will pass on AEA reliability. Accuracy is what matters in the end, but if it doesnt work when you want it to,butkis.Im not claiming the AEA is better than a Texan, but I dont agree with your assumption they wont be useful past 50yds. Don't forget to cast your vote!I cant speak for the Texan but the Hatsan has terrible customer service and their QC department is even worse. You'll spend more time repairing an AEA than shooting it. I personally have an Umarex Hammer and love it. Ive heard that the Texan has accuracy issues but my problem with them is that they are terrible looking.
I love the .72 Zeus Carbine. What a frikkin beast! Can't get those up here in Canada -Im a little confused? The AEA Challenger is pretty beefy, 235g Slug at about ~950-1050fps @~540Ft-Lbs.
