I am just starting with .25 slugs, have two FX large mags and based on ppl happy stories for a sake of my convenience I got myself this eaglevision metal mag as well.

Loading it as I would normally do with FX mag, removing the magnetic cover, loading the amo, and now I shall close the cover...somehow.

No matter what I do always pinching, both the pellet skirt and the slugs as well...

So far my impression is not much positive compared to original FX mags, only difference is not in using it - but the price tag.

What is a trick?

For .25 slugs, and .25 cal is the only cal I have issues with, couple easy options. Don't use anything as short as a 33gr Nielsen. 34gr or bigger and I never have issues with the slug turning in the mag.

Smaller slugs like the KO's, smaller Nielsen's, etc, orion's mag insert works well if you have a mag where the slugs can turn.

I take my Dremel with a cone sanding attachment and chamfer the inside edge of the pellet/slug slot on the mag wheel. This'll help if you have a probe that catches...or use a pin probe.

Also, I place a small strip of gorilla outdoor tape on the ammo stopper on the outside edge of the main body. I have noticed with slugs, the .25 cal mag tends to slightly over-index. This keeps the projectile aligned with the probe hole. I have no misfeed or issues with the probe ramming into the mag with this trick.

FX did recently redesign the .25 mag for 25 rounds that supposedly has eliminated the feeding/turning issues with slugs.

The cost for the eaglevision mag is about 3x the FX mag, OK I don't expect to be 3x better, just to handle the slugs better...that is it. But if I have to feed one by one through that hole in the ring....that makes me emotional spending 3x the $$$ for something that is NOT better then the FX mag. It feels like got tricked into buying that thing.

This my opinion about the aluminum mag but it is late, the damage is done.

Fx alum mag were around $100 right? Currently they are plastic and around $50

that being said, eagle vision mags have clearance for longer ammo .1” longer than FX. thats why i used them.

Many of the loading/alignment issues can be fixed by reinstalling the 6 rubber balls in the loading port block.

FX used to use 6 balls, but when they came out with the side shot high capacity mags they had users pull 4 balls.

Not the fit-to-FX a problem but the closing a lid on the alu mag...pinching the skirt of a pellet or a slug

U have to load them 1 by one.
I haven’t seen anything around the length of king heavies that works otherwise
