N/A what is a gun worth when two fight over it

i saw a Diana LP8 on GB the other day and it when off around noon today
it was at 208.00 at about 10:30 west coast time and i turn it off
so the last time i looked they were in the 330..00 and A of A had them down to 229.00 so this pistol went of at 408.00 plus shipping and any tax and credit card fees
now i said some bad word and shook my head in disbelief
so when two people fight over something i guess they will get wild
is it want over need or not know what you are buying or some master plan that we have not found out about
thought i would share

Some folks put a higher value on things than others.
And there are also those guys that have their buddies bid stuff up.
I set my top price I'm willing to spend and walk away. But it's been a minute since I even did the auction thing.
I see this from time to time. An item the sells way above its retail value. Normally I see it relisted a week later and the tactic starts again.

I can understand paying a stupid price for a gun when you need it; like when coming under attack, or while starving to death surrounded by plenty of meat on the hoof... armed only with pockets full of cash. But there are few real examples of needing an airgun.

However, I assume I'm not the only airgunner to have paid more than a reasonable price for one I wanted. Correction- oneSSS I wanted. Correction- one$$$ I wanted.
