What height rings for RAW HM1000x?

So I bought a RAW HM1000x Lrt and I am wondering what height of scope rings you people use? I want to buy the rings soon so that I have them by the time the rifle arrives. I have an Element Optics Titan 5-25 by 56 and a 34 mm tube.

How low can I go and still insert the magazine?

How high does the magazine go above the top of the rail?

Scope rings, and their defined heights are totally proprietary, and inconsistent. On my RAW I've used low and high from different makers, with the same clearance! Decide on your preferred ring, then search the maker's information for the numbers. Might want to order 2 sets and return the one that doesn't suit you.

I have mediums (UTG Pro brand) on my RAW X with a 50mm bell on the scope she’s mated to.

My non-X is married to a 56mm bell and has BKL high mounts, but definitely not needed.

Mediums should work as long as your barrel doesn’t have a full length shroud. If yours has the carbon tube which is standard, then mediums should work.

I would bid on this 1.5" one. Their low 1" 34mm is too low so this is the only other one they sell.

Max $100 is what I would pay if shipping was included but says $16.29 for shipping probably due to medium USPS Priority mail flat rate box and insurance. Maybe $80 max bid on this case that's pushong it though. Who knows it sells for $149-$150 average everywhere you go. Maybe you get it for cheap.

Here is a picture of my son’s RAW with the FX adjustable rings. The Vortex scope has a 52mm objective and there is plenty of clearance. You can also see there is plenty of room for the magazine with these rings. Our other guns have the Eaglevisioncam adjustable rings and they are awesome. The fit and finish is just spectacular.

I use the FX No-Limit scope rings on my RAW, and they now have 34mm size.

It sounds like your new rifle is on order. If so you will be getting the Large Moderator, just over 2" dia. The front lens of the scope may be Lower than the moderator. My new RAW has Vortex High Height 30MM rings, PR30-H. The scope has a 50MM front lens and it is about 1/4 Lower than the moderator tube. So if your buying a new RAW take into consideration that the moderator design has been change.

I went with Nightforce Extra Highs because the highs did not work due to the position of the turrets interfering with the magazine. 

The extra highs are . 7 inches from the rail to the bottom of the tube. The highs were .455 inches and would have worked if the turrents had not been right above the magazine.

Nice. I liked my raw but didn’t enjoy it. It was too long for me. I’ve had bullpups for 6 years so that’s what i got used to. I traded it for a mk ll impact.

I've used both medium and high, depending on the size of the objective lens of the scope and what I have in my parts box. I don't think it's such a big deal to mount the scope as low as possible. That's an old wives tale.

But guns look ridiculous with high rings. Especially if the scope could be lower. I think it is still something that is relevant even though there is little or no performance advantage.

Kat, I think whichever height rings makes it easiest/most natural (if there is such a thing!) for you to get your sight picture the most consistently.

I agree, the optimum height should be along the center axis of the scope to your pupil with a correct cheek weld.
