What have you done with your airgun today?

Lightened my DTC a bit, now it’s under 7lbs. Wonder how I can make it even lighter....🤔🧐

I decided to change a few things on my new wood stock that I got from Vetmx awhile ago , first was to make it fit better to my hand so had to do a lot of sanding & decided to try to do some stippling (my bit was dull & having new ones coming tomorrow) so still work in progress .

it was about 1/16" deep but only took about 3 min.'s to sand down

next was the rear of the stock

it was also about 1/16' deep but a little harder to do took about 6 min.

I left my BSA Lonestar in its rifle case. Waiting on o-rings for the input valve. Instead of futzing with it, I did some powder burner work. I free floated the barrel on my CZ 452-2E American and spent a few hours at my rifle range setting the new zero and testing some old ammo. Old Stingers I had stored for maybe 25 years shot horribly. I have an idea using sorbothane that is neither pressure bedding nor free floating, but somewhere in between the two. Could work on my Lonestar as well. Will give it a try if it works out.

As much as I love the look and feel of crown’s synthetic stock I really love the laminate stock with adjustable cheek rest which makes a big difference since crown requires high rings to clear the mag. The wood/laminate stock is heavier by 8 oz which is noticeable but majority of the weight in the rear so it just feels really nice. Touch decision, might just keep both stocks for a while.

with the gun being a little heavier and rear weighted it seem I can hold the gun a bit more steady and 34 yard groups are better.🤔

The black pepper lam in cam crown above is impressive. :) back on topic I have a Hatsan sortie that runs suppressed on the way, and a Hatsan flash with a can coming my way. After a bit of a break I’m jumping back in with two feet. A tip to guys in your thirties, if the wife has twins it changes life real quick, excited for my air guns on the way, and one day teaching the kids.

Did more paper killing with my new to me mini crown, I'm really really liking it. It just feels awesome!

Put on a bipod and used a sand bag trying to shoot some groups. Thanks to suburbia living the fences and house would direct the wind all over the place, I'm talking 180 degree wind shifts gusting 6-8 mph. With the cheap crosman pellets with horrible BC of 0.012 I had extreme left and right spread over over 2 inches and over 3 inch vertical spread too at only 34 yards! For baseline I also shot some 177 hades with BC of 0.028 and the wind drifts are much much lower at around 3/4 inch horizontal and 1 inch vertical and only when wind really kicked up. However with some practice reading the wind from a string tied near the target I can get within 1/2 inch of my POA, no way I can get a 5 shot group since the wind is just constantly shifting. Still a super fun time learning to how read and compensate for the wind.

Edit: then orange pledged my pellets, my pellet will shoot sweeter than the lemon pledged pellets Odoyle has!😝

edit 2: holy smokes!!! Finally the wind died down mostly and accuracy with crosman pellets with pledge has noticeably improved or at least the consistency improved! Why haven’t I done this earlier?!?!?!? AND my airgun crap cabinet smells great!

I tried some FX hybrid slugs in my .25 Dreamtac and was not impressed. Would have done better throwing them at the target. Turned the reg pressure up quite a bit so I can try again after I run the chronograph numbers.

unfortunately due to its length and center of gravity you need to be shooting well above 950fps for them to be accurate. Another option is to try superior heavy.
