What have you done with your airgun today?

There is a simple clean character to that, along with a really rich wood, that makes that very attractive to me. If I recall correctly, the cheek protrusion is called a Monte Carlo stock, which is a remembrance for me of my favorite rifle ever, a .22 cal Weatherby Mark XII semi-auto. So incredibly comfortable to hold and sight along.

Anyway, yours is different, but beautiful enough and familiar enough to give me an instinctive like for it. Hope you enjoy it! To me, this classic simplicity is largely what the beauty of a rifle as tool made beautifully is all about.

Thank you Marc! I appreciate the kind words. I really do enjoy this rifle, sadly not as often as I should. I get distracted with the latest and greatest sometimes. I do try and cycle through all of them.

That precise LW barrels attached to the 17xx sure does the job, QB sir

Quiet and deadly

yes sir!!! Uber quiet and deadly even at 480fps. Just got another one @34 yards and also pass though. I really need to switch to the hollow point, can’t wait for my other cheap scope to come in because the cheap 2-7 pistol scope is damn hard to see at 34 yards! 😅

Edit: this is all odoyle’s fault, I’m now obsessed with super low power but accurate guns. I even ordered a crosman challenger after he threaten to called me stupid if I don’t order one. The 1701 makes my 1720 @650fps seemed over kill and pp700 carbine @800fps down right reckless! 😂😅🤣

QB sir, it is a Boyds Barracuda stock inletted for the Disco, and yes, it does fit the 1701P tube/action with the gauge hole in perfect alignment with its gauge.

If you would notice, the PROD/1720T gauge is a bit forward, so it will not align with the Boyd's stock gauge's hole.

To elucidate, the 1701P, the Maximus, the Fortitude, and the Disco have the same gauge arrangement--closer to the trigger guard--so they will fit this stock or any Boyd's stock design inletted for the Disco.

The PROD/1720T does fit but the gauge will be out of sync.

Been drooling over Tom West’s stocks last couple of hours!

there is one of Boyd’s stock in classified but the seller isn’t responding to me! That blue stock is seriously good looking.

separately I mounted my vector scope back onto the bsa ultra. Really like this little gun, think I’ll keep it and one day when squirrels swarm my house I’ll bust it out the wrecking ball!

All my pellet tins in my cabinet was mixed around and i didn't have a clue how much of each type i had, so i pulled them out and sorted them, i think i have pellets to last atleast a couple of years... but i am short of .177 hades and .25cal FTT... I have more pellets in different bags and guncases also, pictures shows 25 ,22 ,20 and 177cal pellets from the cabin.

Haha Dingfelder!

Today i did some real cold testing, -12c and windy from left to right, the testsubject was hw30s .177 synthetic, range 25m, first pellet was jsb hades 10.34gr, zeroed it as showned @ the target, then plinked for maybe 30 minutes, then swapped to a pellet i found when i was organising my cabinet, jsb ultra shock 10.34gr, i know i have tested it before but have not made any notice that it would perform ok in any of my guns, the wind picked up a bit more and the first 15ish pellets mostly drifted to the right, but stayed in a cluster so these might work in this gun, but then the pellet started to drop, i did not check the speed before i got out but the chrony showed only 130 m/s after an hour outside as I shot the second target, the hades gave 177 m/s when it was 0c but now only 146 m/s @ -12c, so the speed drops a lot when it's cold.
