Reconfigure my PP700 back to full time carbine with the new 1.5-8 Barra scope. It’s a bakcyard squirrel CQB weapon!

Edit: finally met the new neighbor, very nice older gentleman. He told me he will be putting in a pool so I hope he put one in with fountains so I can start shooting in the back yard against 🤣

You better enjoy it now qball. Looks like it expires in less than a year!!

Gosh darn it, you are right! I better shot it more!!!

Cleaned the barrel in my crown and the shroud had a ton of lead dust. Guess at the very least that part got cleaned, the smooth FX barrel took about 4-5 patches to clean so true to what everyone has observed the FX barrel really doesn't need cleaning. Took a few shots to get back to how it was with no gain at all after the cleaning.......guess I won't be doing that often.

Took some photos of the HW55M I just finished restoring. Re-blued, new leather piston seal from Chambers along with a synthetic breech seal, Maccari spring, etc. It was pretty beat up... but for a gun that is 52 years old...No, that's no excuse for the person that owned it. I seriously do not understand why some people don't take better care of their guns. Any way, I think it turned out pretty well:

Sir, that HW55 came out great. It looks brand new. I agree with you that their is no excuse for neglecting old guns. That rifle finally got the home it deserves.

Let us know how it shoots!

Thanks for the kind words Moog. Only shot a few pellets but I can tell you for certain that the new Maccari spring has a lot more zip in it than the original spring. I could not get the gun to cock with Maccari's spring guide because it is too thick at the base so I used the original guide. Once I get it broken in I'll give you an update. All I can say right now is that this is a wonderful airgun. All airguns should be made so well.

Regards,

Bill
