What happens to fps when I shorten the barrel of a Crosman 1077?

Will fps go up or down? Looking to remove around 5".

Figure 10 to 20 FPS loss per inch of barrel. You will definitely lose velocity.

Yep, lota velocity loss. Will be louder. Will probably lose accuracy as well. Should slug the barrel first to see if you will be cutting at a high or low spot in the bore. Be prepared to face the muzzle dead level, and re-crown if you want it to shoot worth anything

You be better off with a Crosman Vigilante 10 shot repeater pistol. It's more accurate than a 1077 and has a much better trigger.
