I know these pics are not Airgun or pcp related, but I just wanted to elaborate on what a great kid this guy is. Last October of 2016, I took advantage of my pond being drained, and rebuilt the bridge that had been cheaply made by the previous owner. I tore out all that crusty, rotted Doug fir and 4x4 wood posts and decided thick galvanized posts to support a bridge 53’ long by 6’ wide. I then designed these brackets that could be welded to the steel posts to be able to hang 4x12 pressure treated beams. My wife had always wanted a dock, so I built that too, and had brackets made up for those. All these brackets my buddy fabricated and welded per my design out of 1/4” plate. Also shown are some of the brackets and how they are attached to the posts.
then, over the summer my son and I built and finished up both the bridge and dock, and now I needed permanent caps to slip inside the tops of the bridge posts, so I can install solar lamps on them.
So, a total of 10 custom brackets made out of 1/4” plate, and 12 custom post caps out of 3/16”plate. You’ll never guess what he asked for payment-
He asked that when my pond was restocked back with fish, that I invite him and his 10 year old son to come fishing. That’s it. I paid him regardless, and as soon as I get enough catfish and bass in there he’s on my list for first dibs on fishing.
During his apprenticeship, he was way above stellar, and only got A’s. Very sharp with the math, too.
anyway, just bragging on my buddy Jason. He’s definately one of a kind.
