When I fill my gun to 3000psi the gauge on the gun gets to 3000 about 200psi before the compressor. The compressor is the Umarex Ready Air and gun is the Sig Virtus. Same thing happens to my MPX conversion also. Common sense tells me the gauge on the guns would be the one to watch, am I right? Thanks for the input.

I have only been into PCP for 2 years but I always focus on my gun gauge, I have 4 pcps and I haven't had an issue in these fast 2 years.

Just to be on the safe side I Go with the gauge that reaches the Max fill first.Even some of the high-end guns Have gauges that are not accurate.

I agree with Ripper always go by the gauge that reads the highest until you have it figured out. Although 200 psi difference, in either direction, will not make that much difference as tanks are tested to far greater pressures before we get them.

I also agree with @biohazardman and @Ripper. Go with the gauge that reads your stated max pressure first. Experience has taught me that more expensive gauges, whether on the fill station/tank or new replacement gauges (Wika or Sekhmet as an example) on you PCP, should very closely mirror each other. Be safe.

I had a gun/bottle gauge that always read about 750 psi too high. I used that gauge to determine when to switch off. Was not reaching the gun's ideal pressure for a long time before i was able to check against two other gun gauges and realize what was up.
my YH gauge is off as well - reads 300 psi or so above actual pressure (a gauge sent to me by a respected gun smith that had been tested and confirmed accurate revealed that). I think the idea is that a few hundred psi from a true value is the best we can hope for. Let us hope all components are designed to fail far above their working pressures. We would be hearing of lots of injuries if this was an issue wouldn't we?

Does it really matter?
What matters is what your rifle prefers!
Wery rarely is max fill pressure the optimum for best shot delta V0 through a shot string.
That is unless you run a regulated rifle then again it really does'nt matter.

In that situation I would be looking for gauges that were more of a match and going by the gun gauge for the time being. In my case, my FX gun gauge and my other gun gauges match the gauge on my fill assembly, so I can go by either one and prefer my larger fill assembly gauge that is easier to read.

The gauge on my Umarex Ready Air compressor is digital so no way of changing it. I will have to lower the fill pressure reading on it to match it up with the gun.

I have an Umarex ReadyAir too. Loud and slow but I have 10 hours on it so far with no problems……it gets the job done and I like it. But I’ve also noticed that it pumps up the guns a little higher than the digital gauge reads. So I just dial it down. I know that a 200 bar fill should be set for 185 bar on the display. And that a 250 bar fill should be set for about 240 bar on the display…….and so on.
