I used to think the same way, but I've mellowed on fill probes through the ownership of my Huben - it is really well executed on it, and I can see it having some advantages over just a foster fitting - especially when coupled with something like the Edgun Eazyfill valve.Foster fittings sure beat fill probes, in my opinion.
I cant think of a better method, than a foster fitting to be honest.
That said, I think the fact that there is no standardization on fill probes is a big deal - I have three guns that use fill probes and none of them can be interchanged. That is the problem. If things were set up with the customer in mind, fill probes should be standardized. Imagine if cars took multiple gas station "fill probes"? It has taken a while, but even EVs are no beginning to coalesce around one standard. Let's get to only two options: either a standard fill probe or the base foster fitting.
