I remember FX touting new age projectiles coming about 4 months ago? Supposed to be neither slug or pellet. Called something else. Whatever became of it?

They were suppose to be called Halo's weren't they? In one of those videos that showed an interview with the head of JSB, I recall he said that they were having trouble stabilizing a "new" slug design. My guess is that he was referring to these Halos, cuz no way in hell FX would be manufacturing those.

But they said in January last year that they were already “perfected” so what are we waiting for? 
In any case, I don’t see the revolutionary nature of yet another hollow point slug with that particular profile. The only thing looking different is the larger hollow point which seems like a good idea.

Yeah, and I threw away ALL of my pellets because they said to. So, now I'm still waiting for the latest ammo without any pellets.

The argument reminds me of the late WWII era, when all sorts of new aircraft engines were being developed. Only to be superseded by more modern jet engines.
The other reason for lack of pellet refinement, has more to do with rifling twists than design. In the FX scenario, all that is needed is a different liner, and you're ready for slugs (imagine trying to shoot slugs in your favorite Marauder?). Based on the current state-of-the-art, I suspect the popularity of slugs will soon surpass pellets, if it hasn't happened already!

FX being the best, all they need to do is just say it and it there, they are so good the groups are so small there is no hole.

I have no doubt that slugs will soon surpass pellets for anyone that is serious about airgun hunting. There’s no comparison in the capabilities between the two. But there is still a ways to go regarding the compatibility/consistency relative to the barrels. But the industry will get there.

I’m sure this is not an original thought, but I actually like being able to shoot Diablos so I know that if I get a ricochet or misfire somehow, it’s not going to land in someone’s living room in the next town over.

Anybody remember waayyyy back when FX hinted at something new coming related to scopes? This "hint" was a good 11/2 years before it was given the name "Element". Then we waited (another year??) for the actual product. Yeah, it happens when it happens. Hope my grandchildren (when my kids have them) get to enjoy the Halo's.
