What does your FX Impact .30 barrel looks like?

I was wondering what your Impact .30 barrel transfer port looks like. I didn't use my .30 barrel that much maybe 50 shoots or less. I realize the transfer port cut into the O-ring groove that's used to align the barrel to the receiver block. It's that on all the .30 barrels or my barrel O-ring groove got miss cut?

Thats what mine looks like to. I'm guessing they cut it so close because it has to line up with the air transfer port.

According Ernest's website he has indicated "On a few Impact the TP hole cut into the o-ring groove and the .30 cal barrel tighten down screw wasn't properly aligned with barrel slot. The MFR corrected this issue." Are the newer .30 barrels o-ring groove cut closer to the breech if MFR corrected this issue? What are the newer .30 barrel look like?

How about the barrels that are already have this issue? Will FX replace them? I got my back in November 2015 (first AoA shippment)

Got the .30 barrel early in april-16.
the tp hole is cut exactly as yours Jack.

sharroff, Your Oring inner groove shoulder isn't cut like mine. 

the air pressure will force the Oring on the outer shoulder of the Oring groove to seal the blast, so the cut inner shoulder has no play in sealing the air blast---just an eye sore for me.

looking at the picture of your barrel. The transfer port hole is "not" cutting the O-ring groove right?

Ok. I will put away the cell phone and get a camera to take better pictures.

I don't think there is that much difference in our barrels ports. With the o ring removed you can see I really don't have much material in that area either (.0025"). That is literally paper thin (I measured a piece of ink jet paper and it was .003") The difference between yours and mine might be within the set up of the machining equipment or the error tolerance of their equipment at FX. Or maybe they moved the bit .002" down the barrel in an updated CNC program. Only FX knows the answer to that.





Re your question on sending it back, if you are completely satisfied with the accuracy, I would hold on to it. If AoA decided to declare it defective and replace it like they did with my .25 and .30 barrels you may or may not get one as accurate as the one you have. If you aren't happy with the accuracy, I'd call AoA, and explain your have accuracy issues and what you think might be a badly cut barrel. You might get a new one like I did - and they 'accurized it' too. Not sure what that entails, but they both shoot into 1/2 without me tuning at 50 yards now.

I should get my .30 kit this week and it should be as new as it can be. Will post if anything is changed, but despite it looking subpar there should be no performance issues. As Ernest said, it seals away from the hole.

Just got a new .30 cal barrel from my distributor here in Canada.
This transfer port is so thin beside the o ring.
Hope this one will last longer.

They are very fragile.
We must pay attention when we remove the barrel from the Impact and put it back in place.
Just too much pressure whe you push it inside the breach block can brake the barrel transfer port so tiny.
I dont understand why they use brass instead of steel to manufacture this peice .
I dont know if it is possible to remove this brass peice and customized one made of steel.
