What does FOV mean?

gotta agree with metalmaniac,

that scope, while technically usable,is not going to be a good choice for airguns.

airguns IMO NEEEED an adjustable objective or side focus,

to both focus your target clearly when shooting at closer/farther than 100yds,

and to minimize any accuracy issues that you can run into when shooting a fixed parallax scope at a distance other than what the parallax is factory set for.

(like was said with most rifle scopes is usually 100yds)

Thanks for the clarification. If I understand parallax as that the POA is POI. I would love to have a high zoot scope but I got 50 bucks for christmas (family christmas exchange) so this is the scope I purchased it could be a big mistake but I won't know till later. I beleave it will be better than the scope that came with my brake barrel which may have a 100y parallax too but its a POS IMO. I dunno this stuff thats why I ask these questions so thank you for answering them.

Yes the FOV is how many feet wide (and high) you can see from edge to edge, depending on zoom magnification. ie, higher power, smaller FOV.

Not sure what the gripes are about parallax adjustment, though. Suggest you try zeroing it at your most useful range and see how well it does closer and further. You should be able to use the reticle to help with vertical hold off.

You mentioned "break barrel": is the air rifle a springer? If so the recoil could damage this scope (surprisingly moreso than a powder burner)

Here is good and simple explanation of what parallax is, in this vid is a tip on how you can cope with a scope that has a 100 yard set parallax, when shooting at say 25 yards. this is why power burners talk about having a good cheek weld, so to place your eye in the same exact spot every time. But with spring guns you can't mash your cheek into the gun, it will push your shot off. All pressure applied to a spring gun needs to be in alignment with the gun, strait back or strait forward. Nothing better than a Springer.
