It occurs to me that we each have our own style. For some airguns are a tool for pest elimination and general hunting. For others they represent and accomplishment of being able to finally get the ### rifle or ### pistol. I have been into airguns as an adult for over 15 years now. About a year ago I sold off most of what I had to fund another hobby, mountain biking. Now getting back into the sport of airguns again. Which brings me to my thread – What do your scope mounts say about you?
When I sold some rifles, I kept the scopes as you usually end up giving them away as a package deal when selling used airguns. That was also a point for me to notice that most buyers did not want the scope included to both lower the cost of the used rifle as well as allow them to use the glass they prefer.
If they want to put the scope on that they have in mind, then they are also using mounts/rings that they prefer. This thread is not to start a debate over which mounts are better than others. Not to create debate about how to maximize the mounts or how to shim or not to shim etc. Just a thread that asks the fundamental question of “Do you use your scope mounts as part of the overall look of your airgun or just as a necessary piece of equipment?” AND a post that aske for you to post how you have mounted your scope! Let’s see some creative use of mounts please….
For a recent rifle I acquired I purchased some cheap rings (until I can afford something better)
They sell on Amazon for only $7.99 a pair
Here sits the scope as I first mounted it on some medium UTG 2-piece rings.
I needed more space for my fingers to load the pellets. So, I thought since they are so cheap why not use two pairs of 2-piece rings?
I am not too OCD about making sure the caps align just perfectly, however, I am liking what I see by using two pairs of 2-piece rings.
Time to head outside for the sight in process…
Since I am asking people to post their mount setups here is the TX200 MKII with a 1 PC
My personal favorite I had the money to buy some Made in the USA BKL rings and did this to the walnut TX200 .22
So, come on – what do you think and show me yours!
~GOD BLESS~
