My curiosity is with the SIG SAUER new model A20(?) gas piston break barrel in .22, ALL FX items especially the new "stuff" hinted at but kept secret during the shot show, (I've pre-ordered the new twist X barrels in 600mm & 700mm lengths for my .25 Impact). I may want to change that order depending on what new innovations or rifles are in the works. And the other new springer break barrel at the shot show with I think new innovations in the barrel lock up. My own thoughts on increases in break barrel muzzle energy lean away from energy increases in coil spring guns to gas spring guns. I feel the double recoil of the heavy mass of more powerful coil spring guns will increases wear and tear on the gun, scopes, stock, etc. The "gas" springers have less moving mass resulting in less damaging recoil. Theoben(?) thought 1000 fps in .25 with modest weight lead pellets was possible with the gas "spring" gun. Looking back on about 55 years of air gunning (daisy bb pistol at 12 through FX IMPACT at 67) I think I would have been money ahead with a rifle like an FX Revolution in .22 or .25 with the 3 power level wheel and the semi-auto action powered from the air cylinder reservoir(4500psi) (there is a new rifle out that uses this engineering) and a bottom feed magazine like the extended 26 pellet mag I have for my impact. Accurate, powerful, quick second shot(insurance with raccoons at nite), extended magazine, a 500cc fiber bottle, & mount a 40 to 50 mm objective lens scope for nite work on raccoons. Most of my shooting is Starlings, doves, pigeons, squirrel, and raccoons. The raccoons and squirrels do the most damage around my place. Amazing after chemo-therapy I turned into a blabber - mouth. Sorry for being long winded. GBGUNNER
