What do you think of the Air Arms Galahad in .22?

I can't make up my mind guys... I was going to buy an Ataman M2R type2 Bullpup in .357, but it has been on backorder since May. I am now thinking of the AA Galahad in .22 so that I have more options as to where I can shoot. It is also readily available at Pyramyd, What do you think about a choice between the two?

AA makes great products. Have you checked out Weihrauch HW100 Bullpup...FYI.

I had one and it shot great! With its variable power wheel I was able to turn it down and shoot indoor 10m silhouette as well doing some squirrel pesting. 

(A foot note to those 10m events, I shot more perfect scores 40/40 with it (4) than any of the other guns I used. This speaks to the balance and shoulder-ability of the gun.)

Accuracy, and trigger was as you’d expect from AA and many a squirrel was felled with it too.

On it’s highest power setting (30fpe) it wasn’t totally backyard friendly but just one click down it was. I suspect this was primarily due to the excess air coming from the shorter barrel as my S500 was noticeably more quiet.
Each click down on the power adjuster produced about 6fpe less than the previous one. 
nice gun. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

What Yo said there. I was on the fence about one once & did some research. I now have a Cricket and a Veteran. Not taking away from anyone’s experience ( @davecole ) as I never did own it, but there was a lot of QC issues at that time.

I have shot a friends and find that it is very user friendly and extremely accurate. He has had it for a couple of years now and no issues with the rifle. I will say that it is a tad heavy, heavier than the Wildcat for instance.

The only issue experienced was with the original magazine. The window clear 'window' cracked and was immediately replaced without issue by Straight Shooters.

I like the cocking mechanism a lot, it's slightly odd to get used to at first, but once on board, its great. Not sure which generation it is, but been okay so far.

If you look, there's not much available these days. Most better guns are sold out, from all of the shops (at least the ones that I'm interested in) and any coming into the country...no one knows when they'll actually get here.

I've liked the look of the Air Arms, Galahad for a long time myself too. Overall, it's got some good points. I actually spent some time today looking at Youtube videos. I'd be real close to buying one, but for a few "small" things, more personal than mechanical...for the guns cost. The small things have added up in my head to hold off until newer guns come into the US.

There's a refurbished .25 caliber, wood stock Galahad on the Pyramydair list for a fair price, but all of my rifles are .22's, and I really don't want to get into another caliber.

Unlike most all other shops we buy from that do this service for free, Pyramydair charges for doing a "fill and shoot" check-up on guns, but it would be advisable to spend the $10 extra for a good going over.

The “factories” for making British made guns were shut down for at least 2 months, and so I assume, there is a huge backlog. I guess the best thing you could do if you really want a Galahad, is take a leap of faith and put in an order with a store. Basically get in line.

AA's refurbs at PA were marked down around the 4th of July, maybe that will happen again this summer? The ultimate sporter refurbs were 900, galahads around that or maybe less- plus the coupon code worked for an extra 10%. Not sure what they are selling for now but I wouldnt hesitate to get a refurb from PA for that much of a discount
