What do you think? Am I worried about nothing?

Funshine … YEP … that's exactly what designates a Impact with the new regulator in it. Mine has no serial number whatsoever in that spot which means I have the smaller, less powerful version. Ya know, it kinda makes me feel something like a chump for having to settle for less because I didn't want to wait for years to find out where the Impact was gonna go as far as design modifications. Butttttttttttttttttttttttt who knows, maybe the next generation of Impacts will be so far ahead of what is available now that none of us will be able to get rid of our guns … they'll be obsolete!

Update - I talked to AoA and they assured me they haven’t had ANY crowns in their store for at least 2 months so their assumption on the build date is delays in international shipping plus time at the importer before arriving at them. FX does all their own importing now so AoA just gets what FX sends them now.

His answer on the stock was that it’s a routine procedure to swap stocks around to manage orders because demand doesn’t always line up with inventory.

I’ve sent an email to Ernest to ask about which regulator version I have so we’ll see what he says and take it from there.

I bought two HW97Ks from Krale this summer. Both had 2017 build dates.

I assume Krale sells a lot of HW guns and isn't even very far from the Weihrauch factory, but there still is a significant delay between build date and when it gets to the consumer.

That said, if you were expecting a gun with the updated reg and didn't get it, AoA should have no problem with an exchange.

As an aside, AoA, Krale and probably Pyramid and the other big sellers all have a no questions return policy for air guns (within a certain time period).

Assuming the gun had no defects and the buyer just didn't like it for some reason, what happens to those guns?

Ernest got back to me today. He said FX USA doesn’t have information as to which reg is in the Crown based on serial number so he is reaching out to Sweeden.

He also said the Crown is not as easy to check as the impact. You have to remove the regulator body to check.
