What did you do airgun related today.

Still doing some minor tweaks on my 2230 build. Decided to make a attenuator for indoor shooting. I also put a longer sleeve inside the valve to further reduce internal volume. Getting very consistent 355 f/sec with 14.3 CPHP. Gets 40+ shoots from a 8g CO2 cartridge.

Installed a .25 cal conversion kit for my Snowpeak M60B that I received from Wes of Airguns Archery Fun. The process is quite straightforward once I figured it out.

The how to video will be posted soon. I will have to go out and tune this new setup soon. My plan is to use it for my coyote hunt if I can shoot it accurately out to 75 yards.

While adjusting the trigger on my notos I knocked it off the shooting bench, no harm done to gun or scope.Checked zero and all is well. Mark
Back in November, I knocked my Alpha Wolf of my table and bent the barrel .058. I posted my mishap in a previous thread.SO...thinking I couldn't do it any more harm, chucked it up on my lathe and straightened it back out. Yesterday I took it to our indoor 25 yard range. Heres my Alpha and a 10 shot group of JSB 18.18@875-880 fps. Shes shooting like a Alpha should, but it took help from AOA/ Shane and Rachael at Daystate to get it all sorted out.

Had a wonderful day today , I drove down to David Slade's and retrieved two rifles i gave him to rebuild and master tune . First one is a Diana Model 60 and number two is a Diana model 75 . YAHOO!!! both shoot to specks and what a dream to shoot now . Both rifles broke after a few shots , A dozen maybe ? i was expecting i would need to have them rebuilt , just didn't get a round "tooit " ! I actually have " one round Tooit " in a velvet lined case dating 1940 something made as an advertisement from a Machine shop . cool coin about the size of an old silver dollar . A huge Shout out to David Slade !!!!

Been putting this small quiet pellet trap on the back burner. Wanted a smaller yet Strog trap for chrono and other compact tasks such as testing. It's many layers of denim packed hard, particle board and thick lammenet plywood at the rear and walls. Copy of my larger target. It has been able to handle 50fpe.

The wind died down after dinner, so I hung an already-holed mini soda can in the pellet trap with the goal of cutting the can in 10 pellets or fewer. The can had been shot 60 times (including the bottom and top), leaving yet another of those maddeningly tiny strips holding the pieces together. I used the Daisy 880 at 33', standing offhand.

The 4th shot sent the bottom clattering down. I then stacked the halves on top of the trap and used the remaining 6 pellets to pop the halves into the air. No misses tonight, and lots of fun for just a few cents!

The gun isn't refined and it is sold in ordinary stores, but there is joy to be had in knowing that it WILL do what is planned without any fuss. Familiarity = comforting.

Man am I a bit behind.

Last weekend, sold the lelya to a local gentleman in 26hr after listing it.

Last weekend I picked up 4 airguns from a gentleman that sells airguns from gunshots and has the largest collection. I now also work with him fixing the airguns for him on top of shooting iguanas for removal from M-F.

Listed the DNT Thermnight, increased the reg pressure on my Krait L .177 from 86b to 98b and increased hammer spring tension by half a turn and I got my spread at 9fps with 16gr slugs going 849fps and 13gr slugs going 919fps avg. Grouping under an inch at 98yds.

Fixed the leak to a notos, zelos, and Javelin Pro.

Removed a little over 115 iguanas this while using the Krait.

20m target making. watered down white glue, dirt,.dollar store 2x3 foamboard. needs more painting.

Argh, in the two hours I spent packing the car, forgot to bring the soldiers. Luckily had a stack of these 3d print targets. The big ones are dime size.

Did some checking on where I might find a nice Walnut stock for an old(San Rafael) HW-30 with the European style stock. It's got the finger grooves up front, the rounded pistol grip and a bare wood butt, and very lightweight. I've never seen one, but I know SOMEONE can make one for me. When I first started air gunning in about 1987, I bought all magnum springers. My first one, a HW-77(long barrel), I bought at a gun store, and I really had no idea what I was buying. When the clerk told me it was a pellet gun, I knew I had to have it.
About 5 years ago I bought the old HW-30 and fell in love with it. Now, I've got 2 old HW-30's, and 3 R-7's. What a joy to shoot - lightweight, accurate, easy to cock, and no safeties.
Florida Man....that target looks pretty challenging for an old man like me. My HW-77 is pretty accurate at 25 yards. Maybe I'll give it a try and see how I do. Do you have a favorite pellet that works well in most of your guns? I did extensive test with a lot of different pellets and the H&N Field Target Trophy was the winner. I still have all those test targets from those test and I'll pull them out and review the results. Thanks for the target and a good idea.
