What barrel and slugs should I get for my .25 FX Dreamtac w/ plenum & bottle?

Hi all,

Ive been SUPER eager to try slugs ever since I heard about them. I’ve read that many have had success with with the .25 600mm superior liner and slug liner with the 33.5gr, but I wanted some opinions on what to get for my new gun. My main questions are:

1) What are the differences between the slug and superior liner?

2) does the superior liner actually shoot slugs well?

3) Which one should I get if I’m going to use it for long range (75+ yds) hunting?

4) What are the results you guys have had with the 2 liners shooting slugs?

Thanks a lot, PlinkForFun

PlinkForFun, My DL classic PP 600mm STX in .25 has no interest in FX hybrid slugs at all in the 800fps range. This is all I can share of slugs.

It is a laser beam accurate to 100yds with JSB 33.95, period. Game over with whatever I'm aiming at in that range.

Try some other slug options and see what works, I believe the FX barrels will all preform well with one slug or another and that is what makes them unique...

My Impact .22 shoots them well in 3 of 4 barrels.

Have fun and be safe.

If I was SUPER eager, before buying barrels, I would order the FX Hybrid Slugs then, get the NSA sample pack.

I don’t really want to use the FX hybrids because they’re so expensive. I do understand that they can perform very well in some barrels, but I don’t really want to pay 15$ for 100 slugs. I would buy a sample pack, but it seems like .25 NSA slugs and hybrids really don’t work well in the standard pellet liners. But thanks for the suggestions anyways.

2L8, I’ll have to try the 33.95s. Plenty of power and keeps energy better than most .25 pellets. Sounds like they work great in the pellet liners. Thanks for the info!
