What are the best NSA slugs for the .25 FX 600mm FX Superior liner

Hi all, I’m going to end up picking up a superior liner to shoot the .25 JSB MK2’s out of my Dreamline, and I was wondering if there’s any NSA slugs that might work well. I’ve heard many say that the 26.8 and 29gr work well, but I’ve also heard people also have had mixed results with them also. I just wanted some opinons from people who have tested them already to help make a decision of what slugs to buy along with my liner. I have also heard that the Hybrids work really well in the superior liner, but that’s pretty expensive for me.

There is not best slug, it’s a trial and error, even if we both have the same Gun with the same settings shooting the same ammo, results can be different, I suggest to get a sample pack and go from there.

I have great success with the 26.8(1030ft./s), 29.5(1000 ft./s), and 33.5(960ft./s) grain NSA slugs. Using power tuned Wildcat MKII .25 and Crown .25 both with the 600mm Superior liners. If your airgun can get them shooting 930 up to 1000 ft./s all weights I listed are very accurate. If your airguns power isn’t so punchy, I’d use the lighter 26.8 grains.

Thanks Joe! I’ll try them out when I get it. I’ll order a few boxes of the 29s and 26gr slugs to try out. I have a PP on my DL, I think it’ll be able to push them pretty fast, but I might need a Huma TP for the extra speed, Have you gotten good results with them going slower at all like 850-900? I do want to retain atleast 30-40 shots so I have enough for when I go hunt.

Yes, they do well for me at 880 to 900-ish ft./s. I just rarely shoot them there, but with the Superior liners the accurate speed range is surprisingly broad. You should do well with those slug weights and barrel combo.

Or you can just buy the Corbin Dies and experiment and make your own which will give you MOA groups OR possibly better at 200 yards.

Awesome, thanks Joe! I’ll give it a go when it gets here. Hopefully They'll be accurate. I have looked into getting some dies, but there’s some more reading I’d like to do before I go spend $100-200 on dies, presses, lead, etc. I know there’s a lot you need to learn and experiment with to get good results.

I would wait and test the JSB .25 slugs before doing anything.

I haven't got any groups photographed of the AVS slugs. They were giving me literally 5 shots in one hole at 25 yards. Everything else was at least a cloverleaf, except the jsb heavy mkII, those were just as good.

I had it out in the woods today, and plinking at leaves at 45 yards, I was getting some cloverleaf groups in those. 

Basically "everything else" was fx slugs, nsa 29, 33.5, AVS 32, 34, 26, 38, JSB kings and MKII, and hades. While most of those except the hades produced "good enough" groups for me, the AVS 38s have been freakily accurate, across several groups on several days.

Vary the speeds before you make a call, also some different sizing to find "the one" NSA's do very well for hunting. AVS is my go to for paper. Those and the trusty JSB kings stack. MKII's are between the two/three.

I have and my gun didn't like them as much as the 29's, 29.5's and Hybrids.

I was just about to order that same liner. How is your group size at different range.

Superb. I have confidence that when I miss, it was me not the gun. This new barrel has taken away all my gun doubts. Between the new barrel and my barrel band my Crown shoots way better than I do.
