What are Puncher Breakers like now?

Hi Gary.

Does that $900 AUD include shipping from Queensland and the scope and filling accessories? I've had a look at the supplier's web site and couldn't find any prices. I've read the guys spiel and it sounds like he's factoring in a pretty fat profit margin to cover any warranty issues. They used to advertise plastic Marauders for $1350 AUD + shipping when the exchange rate was a lot better than it is now. I know that he is pushing package deals so that price is reasonable if it includes the peripherals. If not, I will give them a wide birth.

Thanks, mate,

Ian, Vic.

Hi Ian,

I ended up buying in Geelong would you believe. I actually chased down every licensed gun dealer in Victoria and NONE of the had any decent PCP's in stock. I then found a wholesaler who stocked Krals (amongst others), after enquiring, he was prepared to sell to me direct because there was no one within a couple of hours drive who was a retail dealer of his. I got the Puncher breaker in all black for $AU800. This was the standard package with 2 magazines, filling probe etc. I did not buy from Queensland because they did not yet have final pricing or stock of the Krals. In addition any rifle brought in to Victoria MUST be shipped from Queensland to a Victorian licensed gun dealer. This gun dealer completes the Permit to Acquire with serial number details etc and submits this to the Police Licensing Branch. They charge a $75 fee for this, add in $50 freight from Queensland, and you can see why I was really happy to find the guy. He was really nice to deal with, keeps spares etc, and was a real gentleman even filling the gun with air for me.

I bought the compressor from Queensland because they test and supply some extras with it and provide a warranty. The price with freight from Queensland was about a $100 dearer than bringing in from China direct. I preferred to pay the extra for testing and warranty and extra bits.

If you want to contact me privately, I'll let you know where I bought from......

The scope is a $55 delivered Ebay special 6-24x50 AOG- it is remarkably good and after looking through scopes 6 times more expensive, I didn't feel like paying the extra!!!

Hope this helps

cheers

Thanks for the info, Gary. I'm aware of the things that you mention. I already own a couple of PCPs. I have a mate who is a firearm gunsmith and dealer. He no longer sells PCPs because of all the warranty issues and the shipping that he had to cover when the suppliers were interstate. One of mine had to be sent back to Sydney four times. Gunsmiths are a dying trade these days and the ones that are still around, turn their noses up when it comes to airguns. I read the Queensland dealers tips and instructions about running the Yong Heng pumps that he sells and found some of his comments interesting, for instance calling people who add ice to their coolant, clowns. Although I happen to concur with his assessment, it is not the way to attract potential customers. I was lucky enough to find an Australian shipment on eBay and got one for $340 AUD delivered to my door. I'm still in two minds about trying a Diana Outlaw or biting the bullet and getting an FX Dreamline. Both are available here. I will be interested in how you go with the PB, I haven't tried a bullpup yet but I might throw one of these into the mix.

Cheers

Ian

Ian,

the Dreamlines will not be in stock for another week or two - I enquired last Monday. They are apparently in customs awaiting clearance. They told me are only getting the Dreamline Lite as the others are not yet available apparently. I decided on the Kral as a minimum decent entry level. If I really end up getting in to it I have partner approval for an upmarket rifle for Xmas, but I could not get this approval for a first gun :). Re gun warranty- the fellow I bought one from in Geelong is an importer, so covers the warranty here - no freight!

cheers

Thanks for the info, Gary. The Dreamline was supposed to be here in February and the website has all three models listed as in stock and oddly the walnut classic is a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than the lite version. I assumed that they were available. Anyway, I still haven't made up my mind so I'm in no hurry. Having an importer nearby is a big plus in this game. By the way, my mother spent the last 30 years of her life just down the road from you in Torquay, I live in the outer east.

Cop you later

Ian

These guns are the absolute best when tuned. tough to beat that value. I'm getting (3) mags (36) shots, shooting 22.5g hollow point slugs with a BC that is more than double any pellet at 925fps. Super quiet, super short, reliable, love this gun.
