I am going to be setting up my .25 compact as a pesting hunting gun shots will be mostly 50 yards and under I was thinking of using the hades but curious if I should try something else. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I prefer slugs, Nielson Specialty Ammo of any weight. My Impact shoots the 29 gr. slugs very accurate.
I can consistently make head shots on 13 line ground squirrels .
In ND it is always windy. So I don't have to compensate for drift as much.
Plus they are reasonably priced !
I also think they kill more efficiently.

If the slugs don't shoot good close up they sure are not going to do better at longer ranges. My gun often shoots one hole groups at fifty yards with them and mostly MOA at 100.
Kind of depends on your area what you should shoot. Pellets if there are buildings and stuff around you slugs if not or you can be careful with the extra range and power. My slug A liner loves the NSA .250 and VK 34 slugs as well as the JSB 33.95s.
My Superior .22 likes the 18.3 JSB and will do one hole groups a fifty yards repeatedly with them.

Yeah I want to make this one my back yard pesting gun and also want to take it hunting at other times but again 50 yards max most likely.

Pellets will do fine for you then. The JSB 25.54 king , 33.95 King Heavy MKll or Hades will do the job for you. They should all be very accurate in your gun as well. Diabolo pellets shoot the best at the 830-860 range although they can do well at other velocities as well.

25 kings are a great choice for big back yards and 50 yards. the 34’s are big, heavy and even more dangerous! Raccoon problem? Yes, but StrelokPro tells me they still go 650 yds@900 FPS so be careful

You have the perfect scenario for pellets. You can avoid the drama associated with slugs like overtaxing your gun, oily projectiles that attract debris, weird barrel cleaning intervals and spaghetti western ricochets that could and will get somebody hurt or property damaged. You will also maximize your shot count and have an accurate rifle all the time, every day.

Hades shoot amazingly well out of my Royale 500. In 1 year I've only had one pass-through. If you want to try some .25 Hades I'll send some to you to try. Polymags are great for 50 yr kills too. Likewise, if you want to try some PM me.
