What a great way to end the day, one chance at a chippy at dusk

I asked Penny if she wanted to go hunting, She jumps up. She always wants to come over and smell my gun. And we went for a nice 20 minute walk very slow and quiet. I actually grabbed the old time BSA. It’s light and handy, and I feel very confident with it.

on the way back, we had our opportunity. It’s really hard to pick a chipmunk out of the brush. It’s amazing how all of a sudden they just appear seemingly out of nowhere, yet they’ve been sitting there chirping for five minutes, while you looked for them…

This guy was sitting on a limb, and I knew if I hit him he was retrievable for a picture. Very few offer that opportunity.

Once again the BSA scores an absolutely devastating kill. Check out the pictures. 20 yards. He was sitting sideways to me.

Penny was on him. And released him very nicely when I asked. She’s just a puppy, that’s amazing.
