What a fantastic birthday party we had today. I'm now 55, so I look forward to all the pellet discounts.
I had my two sons, both 21, and their girlfriends, my 27 year old Daughter, her husband, and our only grandchild Millie over today to celebrate.
We grilled, swam, talked, and most importantly had a tremendous day of Air Gun shooting.
None of the girls has any experience with shooting. My Boys are quite skilled. My son in law, well ,he is a AR-15 kinda of guy who asked my wife before why I spent my money on Air Gun "toys". He is a range once every few months shooter.
We all shot all the guns in the pic, but the favorite amongst almost everybody was the Air Arms S510 XS Carbine .22 cal with the heads up red dot sight.
I started everyone out off bags at 25 yards so the newbs could get the feel of all the guns.
After that, we went off-hand at 70 yards for my favorite 1" bell target.
I'm happy to report the girls did very well with the AA. I think the scope on the Dreamline was too much for a beginners.
Great fun was had by all and I'm down one tin of JSB 18.13g. Oh well, a small price to pay!!
The lesson I learned today was if you have a decent rifle like the AA, a simple sight will do fine up to 50 yards depending on the eyesight!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend, I sure did!!
BTW: My son in law was the worst shot!!
