I installed the Venom Booster Kit. It'll take you 10 to 15 min. I highly recommend using a round Allen wrench as suggested in the AOA how-to video. You'll have a hard time getting to the set screws on both plenum without a rounded Allen wrench.

Used my chronograph for thy first time. I'm not sure how accurate it is.

After tuning it to 140 bar at the regulator I got consistent 830 fps with 15.89 JSB Polymag shorts.

Has anyone tried turning one of these down to a low-powered silent tune? I take single 30 fpe shots in my backyard with a good moderator, but I'm eyeing the mordax and would like to do some full auto plinking (or absolutely blitzing a rat lol) without the neighbors noticing. Like a 12FPE or something tune that's mouse fart quiet? I haven't seen any videos of anyone tuning it. Is it the same as some of western's other guns? How hard is it to switch from full power to lower power?

I'm pretty sure you have to dump all of the air out of the tank, and then dial down your reg screw. Then you fill it back up. You can increase power with air in the system, but you can't lower it.
 
I know there's a power adjustment too, but I don't fundamentally understand how that thing works on a gun with this style of action as compared to what I'm used to. Normally my preferred silent tune is a hefty reg pressure and a tiny tap from the hammer to let out a blip of 150. If you leave the reg where it is and turn down the power adjustment, how low does it go?
 
These hammerless guns work in a completely different way from anything you have experienced in a conventional hammer-hits-valve kind of gun before. They consit of two valves; one that opens to fire, and a second "closing valve" that shuts to end the shot and reset the gun, including the firing valve.

But the main thing is that yes, you can easily dial down the power (literally, with the power wheel on the bottom of the action) to very low levels, and then dial it right back up without every changing the regulator setting. And yes, they get quieter when they shoot with less power.

I don't have a Mordax, but I do have a regular Sidewinder and a Huben K1, both in .22 caliber. I have taken the Huben down to about 5 or 6 FPE with no issue (getting over about 400 shots on a fill doing so). I have not taken the Sidewinder that low (for another reason) but I have no doubt it could get down to at least 10 or so, probably lower. I have not tried it down there because that - at least on mine - when I take the pellet speed down below about 850 fps the accuracy starts to fall off quite a bit. I don't know why, but even down around 650-700 fps it simply does not shoot as accurately - but it is quieter there. Hope that helps . . .
 
Super helpful, thank you. Its not that different from a hammer-hits-valve gun in that regard. The "best" theoretical tune would be a crazy high reg pressure with just enough of a bang to open the valve. That would launch a pellet fast with not much air volume. The realities of spring forces, hammer power, and valve opening times means that it's just not practical to get good accuracy that way on most guns. The hammer force makes the gun jumpy and the valve dwell time and air released get too variable for consistent accuracy.
