Hi well I decided to go out with my Edgun R-5 .30 cal , it was very windy 25-40mph , and severe rain , I came in after testing some ammo on steel plates ,well I came in and stripped down gun and removed scope and dried out things , when I got to the Schmidt and Bender 5x45 Hi -Power PM2 with Tremor 3 Reticle
I then decided to look at lens they had some dusst so I brushed it off and blew out and then polished glass , I then looked threw it and to my surprise I see an object at 5 mils down and 6.5 mil to the right , I had to double check lens and they are fine , I tapped hard on scope as My thought is too much turret grease and it dripped on the lens or a small micro chunk of grease fell inside the occular lens . well I never got it to pop off Lens , so This thing is going to Schmidt and Bender in AM .
I have to say I am a bit disappointed in the fact this scope passed Quality control . I do know in like 2014 they had some QC issues and lost 1 Military contract but I had never had an issue with 5 or 6 PM2 scopes I have used since the 1980s till now . I own a 5x25 for past decade and it works Great , I got this unit as it was about 1 month ago I had gotten it to review and sell it or keep it and sell other higher end scope , Once I decided to really test it , I might of had it on 3 guns and like 10 hours of use , for the Price point Qc could be better . lets see how service is ,
I can say the 10 hours I have behind this glass is , The glass is very Hi quality and the turrets are precise The LOW MTC turret is a big improvement for me , I however think when you in this range of scope the upgrade features are alot of money for what you get .anyway I can see clearly at about 36x the 3 times I used it , I do believe the glass is good enough to use most days up to 35x and maybe a handful of days when conditions are good can you use it at 45x , The parallax is very smooth and the reticle has no abnormalities while zooming up or down , I can say this scope is a true 5x where as the PM2 5x25 is really a 6.5x due to tunneling , in this model they fixed it and the low end is as good as the high end .
here it is on my Edgun R5 and what it is it is Tremor 3
