Well that's not a good start...

I have the nominal 26 grain hunter pellet mold from NOE and have tried all three pins. I've mostly used the pin that results in the lightest pellets which are about 26 grains. Usually a little over. The heaviest with a different pin are almost 30 grains. I tested them first in my Avenger which will shoot FX 25 grain into about 1/4 inch groups at 25 yards. The cast pellets are typically about 1.5 inches at the same distance. My newer P35 in 25 doesn't like them much either. I returned the mold and got another one from NOE but that did not help. I don't think it's a problem with the mold but I returned it because it didn't seem to match the drawing on their website very well. My current theory is that I need to find a way to get a few pellets from a mold I want to buy without buying the mold. My guns just like some pellets more than others and that seems to be true of ones I cast too.

I varied velocity a lot with the Avenger and it made no difference. It might have been making a little difference and I was not shooting well enough to see it but it didn't change 1.5 inch groups to 1/4 inch.

I think NOE makes good molds which produce pellets as good as commercial ones but the resulting pellets just don't work well in all guns.

With these h&n ftt pretty much averaging the same its funny the .50 over 50y do great where the others dont the.52 suk / worse pellet . But at 50y or less it all become marginal and some times the .52's came out best at this yardage but not so at that yardage. So it's like shooting this ranges the .52 but at other yardages the cphp or ftt .50 did best. At 10m the .52 just drilled for a another example vs the rest.

I guess i kinda figured if its good here it should be there but aint working out that way..

Not sure if this is the best way, but when sorting I usually jot down the varying weights in order at the front of a line on lined paper. I set each pellet on their respective weight line until I can see where the vast majority will be. Then I sort them to 0.2 grains. The JSB 18.13s I was weighing the other day, the most of them weighed between 17.94gr and 18.14, so those were placed into a tin of their own. Those above and below that range will be in the respective weight ranged tins, provided they're all within 0.2 grains of one another..
