Well that didnt take long

4500 psi. Has a 3k burst on the outlet and 5K on the fill side.
The reason I asked is because years ago I was always playing with paintball regs and never found a difference internally between the high pressure ones and the normal ones. Just the burst discs. Some were a little shy on the amount of G 1/2 threads and they were dangerous but I think they disappeared.

Had the gun out over to my friends house the other day and had a POI shift. Figured it was from he ride in the case and possibly bumped the shroud. Dialed back in and about 10 shots later it was high and right AGAIN.

Dunno if it was barrel flex or shroud movement, but I pulled the 10 inch barrel and fat shroud off and swapped on a 14.5" and shortened Mrod shroud. Gave it a fresh crown job and good cleaning, it's now stacking FX 15.89s at 40 yards. Doing better than ever AND gained 60 more fps!

I think I like the look better too, seems lighter and definitely quieter. Before it had a distinct pop and now i just hear the hammer ping and regulator refill.

Will get some groups with other pellets to see if she can eat a less pricey diet!

Just "finished" up my crosman 2240 bottle gun build and got it sighted in at 40 yards with the field target trophy 13.66 in 5.53HS. Left it in the garage hoping this damn squirrel who I keep seeing in my chicken pen would show up. This is the 3rd this week I've got in there. Once they know where to go I think the others just follow the trail.

It finally popped out of the pen and made it over to the walnuts at the backstop I put out when I seen her this morning.

Waited til she grabbed a nut and settled in on top of the oak log I have there for them to, well, sit on and get shot.

She was facing directly toward me chomping on the nut. Sent one down range, right above the left eye.

I guess 13 fpe is plenty at 40 yards lol.

This is the 4th squirrel I've shot recently with no pass thru and they all were DRT. That energy dump really does make a difference. Oddly, all 4 of these squirrels were also females.
I really like the stock on it. Where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking?

Got home in just enough time to set up and shoot. Ran some 5 shots with 8 different pellets. I'm now having issues with the 15.89s that were on point last night. Odd, maybe I was just rushing through all these, and I don't really have a good rest right now, but they were doing great last night.

Anyhow, I didn't adjust the scope, just sat down and shot with the bottle sitting on a throw pillow on the top of the BBQ pit. Like I said, not the best rest lol.

The last shot was dead on for the FX pellets. Thinking I overfill the bottle a bit. The gauge isn't the best on these Chinese paintball regs. Clear winner here is the hades which is fine, I use them in most of my 22s anyways.

Then next up was the crosman Walmart pellets, which showed decent promise for hunting and general plinking which is a huge plus. I swear there is always that obligatory flier when doing 5 shot groups with crosmans.

AA16 and H&N terminators didn't fair well. The terms started okay with a 3 shot touching, then fliers. Oddly the AA16 look very similar to the fx 15.89 which I've heard are basically all the same pellet including jsb 15.89

The last 5 shotters up are polymags and the venerable JSB 18.13s. What happened?...

20230117_164721.jpg

After those last 4 pellets and abysmal groups, I went back to the FX 15.89 and Hades. Clear winner is the hades, but I'm still not getting that pellet on pellet o got last night with the FX. Might run some patches and try them again when I have more time.

These are 10 shot groups(excuse the derp, I wrote AA16 but they were in fact FX 15.89s)

The low flier on the hades was my bad.

It's not the worst I've seen from a crosman, but it'll work for its intended purpose. I'm just spoiled with getting one big hole at 75 yards with my Kral 25 lol. My mega 22 will run circles around this gun also... but it weighs what feels like 3x as much and it's not nearly as handy.

Nice looking gun. I especially like the modification of the Crosman stock to get the cheek piece up where it belongs.

I don't think it's the lack of pass through that dropped the squirrels quickly, however, I think it was putting one in their brain. My last 3 were my first 3 with my P35-22 which is shooting 21 grain H&N Baracuda Match at 835 fps. All were shot at steep upward angles and all three pellets exited the top of the squirrels heads. Definite pass throughs as you would expect for a pretty heavy 22 pellet at a decent velocity. All the squirrels dropped on the spot. Before I switched to the P35-22 I was using my P35-177 and got the same reaction to brain shots with it. My Prod would be more comparable I think to the subject gun and I had great success with it on brain shots. I dialed the power up a bit and thought it did better on body shots but it might have been better placement.

Can someone link the thread that discusses how to add a bottle? thanks
I used one of these drop blocks they fit direct to valve. I just had the maker cut it down to a custom length for me.

Simply take your valve out, remove the cap, and thread this on the end. Stick it back in and reassemble gun. Add a cheap 1200-1800 psi paintball style regulator with M18x1.5 threads and get a bottle of your choice.
