Well I did it. A Daystate Type 2 compressor....

Congrats! Nice compressor. I really like mine. One suggestion, dont let the auto shut off, shut off the compressor...sounds counter intuitive, I realize.

Use it as a safety shut off, but when you fill a tank, let the pressure get close to what ever level you want to fill, shut off your tank valve, then open the moisture bleed valve on the last stage and let the pressure bleed down while the compressor is still running. Let the pressure drop down on the compressor to below 100bar, actually as low as you can get it, then shut down the compressor. This will reduce the load on the stages and check valves, increasing the life of your compressor. Hope it helps. Enjoy your new compressor, its a good one!

Oh, depending on your operating environment, you may not get much moisture out of the intermediate stage moisture drain, so usually a rag is all I use to catch moisture when I drain it. The last stage moisture drain will have a significant amount of moisture that you will want to capture rather than spraying all over your compressor, garage, house. I put a 5 foot surgical hose on mine with a zip tie and then capture the moisture/oil in a coffee can with a rag in it.

Great question. The benjamin is still chugging away just fine. Only issue I have had with the benjamin is the auto shut off seems to be a little less consistent than I would like.

In regards to the Daystate type 2, I Just wanted something more substantial (been filling tanks for friends too) and to give the audience on the channel some other options to look at. There are more compressor reviews in my future I am sure.

@cootertwo keeps us updated on the 110v version. Congratulations!
