Well DANG! Spring(er) time!

Got the Impact MK2 finally on track, new HS has got velocities way up, got the best grouping slugs ordered and delivered from Nielsen and I'm rarin' to start tuning and BAM.....no way now to fill my air tank. We are on lock-down as of tomorrow. Did manage to get the tank filled but it won't last long.

Dug my Diana Model 52 out and dusted her off.



Spring time, Springer time until further notice..............

Same situation here. Our city went on lock down with one day notice. I didn’t think about my air tank until the next day. Bummer!!!! Well I have been having a lot of fun with my HW30. It is actually better suited to my backyard anyway since I can only get about 20 yard shots and that’s if I get creative.

I did that yesterday. I have about 3200 psi left in my scba and thought i better save that for later. With still relatively dry air, I filled my 3 pcps with my hand pump and took out my Benji Trail NP2, and HW30. When the temps rise I'll bring out the 2400KT and 2260. I have 73 CO2 carts, so that will give me some shooting time.

Those darn first world problems just keep popping up. That's great you have a decent springer to shoot when you run out of air. I think that is what they are for? ;^) I always have my 54 with me cuz after I am done with the PCPs I shoot it. Enjoy

I shot a LGV and LGU, a HW98 and 97, a TX 200, and a Diana 46..

In preparation of this pandemic I bought me a Diana 75 while hunkered down and am primarily a pcp guy and toilet paper is nowhere to be found YO!

Well, frankly I probably shoot my Springers more than my PCPs all the time anyway. However, getting air isn’t a problem with my Altaros Booster. I just topped off a few days ago. Going out for air didn’t work out as well for me when I started. Guess I’m glad it didn’t.

I’ve been tossing around the idea of a nicer Springer. I’m wanting something quiet and accurate enough for a starling at 30-50 yards. I’ve got an Diana/rws 48 in 177, guess I could get some heavier pellets and a scope for it.

I've a friend with a compressor. I got my scba, and scuba tank filled the day we went on lockdown. Plenty of air for my 12fpe pcp's.

I’m still hand pumping after 3.5 years. It’s certainly not fun but nothing near as bad as many make it out to be. I guess it’s just part of the process for me now. I think of it as putting in the work on the front end of the fun. It certainly doesn’t feel like work cocking a springer each shot. I enjoy shooting springers, SSPs and PCPs. I have some pumpers but those are the ones that get shot the least with CO2 being a close second to last. CO2 always seemed wasteful to me so I never warmed up to them much. That’s just me though.

Been spending a lot more time with the HWs. However ,yesterday while sitting at my shooting bench at 2PM a crazed raccoon wandered into my yard. That crazy animal stayed in the sane spot while I walked into my garage and retrieved my Huntsman .22. One shot behind the ear and he fell over like he had been hit with a Joe Frazier left hook- lights out !!!

That Diana Stormrider has a 100 cc tank. I regulated mine and get about 30 shots out of it at about 15 fpe. Even an old man like me can hand pump that one. Shoots good enough. Very light and easy to carry.
